Whispers Like Snowflakes || Tyler & Charlotte

“Yeah, no shit,” he agreed, taking the cup with a grateful smile. “Thank you.” He glanced out the window at the fluffy white flakes floating down to the slush that bordered the wooden slat walkway between the bunkhouses. “But with the food that’s went missing over the last couple weeks and the idiots trying to start up protests practically anywhere they can stand on something elevated, it’s looking like the rumors might actually be true.”
Tyler sighed and leaned back in his chair, taking a soothing gulp of the bitter brew. “It’s like they forgot what it was like just getting here. All that snow. The blizzards blocking the Dreadnaught in when we had to stop because we couldn’t see.” He shook his head to pull himself back from the memories. “The Captain isn’t pushing for punishing them. He thinks they’re fools just like the rest of us. Wants us to try to talk some sense into them if we can find out who they are.” He suddenly looked up, curious concern playing across his face. “You haven’t heard anything, have you? None of your friends whispering about secret meetings or anything?”
