Hellradio but Alastor and Lilith seem to have made it their life mission to embarrass Lucifer in public
Alastor and Lucifer will be around people and they're very clearly acting like a couple and Alastor will randomly say "when are you going to tell your wife about us?" loud enough to make it seem casual but so everyone around them hears it and Lucifer is left looking at him horrified
Or Lucifer will be spending time with one of them and the other will show up and then the two of them will make a whole scene where they act like they just found out Lucifer was cheating on them with the other. Lucifer can only watch as they scream at each other and eventually turn on him and then finally Alastor and Lilith announce that they're leaving Lucifer’s cheating ass for each other. They kiss and then walk away hand in hand while leaving Lucifer there for people to stare at and judge.

I SACRIFICED MY SLEEP BEFORE JOB TO FINISH AND POST THIS TODAY INSTEAD OF TOMORROW!!!!!!! I hope you see WHY it took to long tho (if we don't count my fucked up sleep schedule).
As i said before, Vox's dellusions protected HIM from the truth... and the truth quite literally destroyed his very soul.
Just one part left, it's not going to take long... and we're done... Well, there are of course additional scenes, and Alastor's recovery, but not right now. I think we all need to take a break from this.
If i hear one more comment about them SOMEHOW mending things and Al falling in love... i'm getting my shotgun. I don't have one, but i'll get it.

How do you feel about Viv revealing on bluesky that she’s leaning more into Lucifer not being a bad guy, but instead just a dreamer who fell in love and defied Heaven’s unjust system? Not gonna lie, it kinda killed my enjoyment of Lucifer completely.
I'm okay with Lucifer not being a "bad guy" bad guy, and I like him being a rebellious dream who fell in love at his core (apple joke 👉👉), I just don't want that to turn into ALL he is.
What I find most interesting about Lucifer is him being rebellious dreamer with a soft side while also being a dismissive asshole who is condescending even to the people he loves (however unintentionally).
Lucifer's characterization in season 2 really bothered and I've wittled it down to two reasons.
(LONG POST AHEAD, PREPARE YOURSELF)
1. His idiocy
I'm sorry but Lucifer acted so stupid this season. Like, weirdly stupid. And I'm not talking about when he confronted Vox despite not being able to harm Sinners. I've seen him criticized for that but it honestly felt really in line with his prideful side and I really, really liked that he did it.
I'm talking about when Vox trapped him.
I'm sorry but him seriously just...standing on a big red X in the middle of the floor with a literal spot-light on it?
I've seen it excused as just his arrogance and him not thinking he'll be harmed in any way, especially because he assumed it was all Charlie's doing, but honestly it just felt stupid. It felt like a very hand-wavey, lazy, quickest-way-possible to get him trapped way of doing things and it was honestly disappointing.
I don't mind Lucifer getting trapped. Main characters getting kidnapped/captured is one of my all-time favorite tropes, especially when they are a powerful character, but it was just so unsatisfyingly easy. I didn't need there to be a big, epic battle or anything, but at least give it a little more conflict. A little more struggle.
Like I genuinely could not feel bad for him. Bro wtf did you expect from a giant red X on the floor??? He's never given me the impression of being an stupid but in that moment all I could think was "oh...so you're an actual idiot."
Maybe that sounds a bit harsh but it seriously annoyed the hell out of me.
(Although if a big part of it is because he assumed Charlie was behind it then that does go to show just how little he actually knows her. Charlie has such a high-energy, in-your-way-face way of doing things that her luring someone to a dark, isolated building and getting them to stand on a big red X silently from the shadows is the most un-Charlie thing. Was it because Lucifer was already nervous and insecure? Maybe. Was it because he didn't want to upset her again? Perhaps. But it was still so unlike her and I think the fact he was willing to go along with it is telling).
There was also THIS scene ⬇️
This guy can teleport and fly WHY is he skulking away? Why is he tip-toing in the background?
Lucifer was storming off pissed as hell.
There was the moment when Valentino and Velvette did their little stints, which he looked startled and annoyed by, but like??? If he was so mad and just wanted to leave, why would he decide to skirt around the rally instead of, i don't know, creating a portal? Flying off? He clearly had no intention of staying, and once he saw Charlie and knew she'd be angry (he had to have known, why else would he be trying not to get anyone attention), why not take the fastest escape route possible?
Okay, sure, flying might've got her attention, I hear you say. She, Emily and the others showed up right after this all went down and they probably would've seen him.
Fine, I can excuse that one.
But a portal? Yeah it's shiny and glittery but it would take only a few seconds to conjure and step through. All he had to do was step behind something taller than him (which wouldn't be hard to find) and poof! Gone!
There was literally no reason he had to still be there. Charlie would've found out about him regardless because Vox had pictures of him at the rally.
It felt so unnecessary and I was cringing from the second-hand embarrassment. I literally had to just pause the episode and put down my phone for a second. I still cringe just thinking about it.
And it also just felt very stupid on Lucifer's part. I cannot find the logic behind and his whole
"You do not see me. I am magical. I'm not here. You're dreaming. This is a dream... Bye."
This entire scene was painful to watch and all it did was make Lucifer look stupid for absolutely no reason.
2. Not acting like a parent
I know the natural assumption for this one is the scene where Lucifer only got up to help Charlie to one-up Alastor, which is part of it, but not the only reason.
Lucifer just...did not give me dad-vibes this season. He had all the dad-vibes in season 1, from earnestly wanting to reconnect with his daughter to acting condescending and dismissive.
His nervous bumbling in season 1 did feel like a insecure dad desperately wanting to reconnect with his kid through dialogue, actions, and tone.
His protectiveness:
"Razzle, Dazzle. Oh, look how much you haven't grown! Still fun-sized. You taking care of my whittle girl? You better be..."
Trying (and failing) to like how Charlie's hotel looks,
"Wow, this place sure looks, uh... Uh-huh. Yeah. Uh-huh. It's got a lot of character."
Pointing out the things they have "in common" (also the tried and true response to finding out your daughter has a girlfriend):
"Oh ho my golly! You like girls? So do I! We you have so much in common!"
Feigning consideration for what Charlie is talking about, even though he obviously disagrees
The way he feigns obliviousness to Charlie's entire redemption spiel and tries to avoid the topic
Charlie:Â So, once that's out of the way it should be much smoother sailing.
Lucifer:Â Well, that certainly is, uh... is-is something.
Charlie: So… what do you think?
Lucifer:Â About what?
Charlie:Â The hotel.
Lucifer: Oh yes, it does… it does look much better now, doesn't it? Ya know, but I'm thinking this railing needs work, one good push and you'd just go right over the edge! Whoopie, bye bye!Â
The I-know-what-I'm-talking-about-and-I'm-obviously-right parent voice, you guys know the one:
Lucifer: Alright, I mean, look…I love that you want to see the best in people, but these sinners…You know, they're just the worst. I, I don't know how much you can realistically expect from them in Heaven.Â
Lucifer: Our people Charlie, are awful! They got gifted free will and look what they did with it! Everything's terrible!  I just don't want you to put yourself on the line for people like-—well, like that.
Lucifer:Â Ya see, thus is exaaactly what I'm talking about, Charlie. You build something nice, you invite people in and offer them everything and they just bring violence and chaos to your doorstep. It doesn't matter how well intentioned you are, they're always going to disappoint you.
Lucifer:Â Mhm, ya see? What I tell ya? Charlie, sinners are violent psychopaths, hell bent on causing as much pain and destruction as they can. There's really no point in trying. <- (this is all happening while Charlie is panicking and her hotel is being attacked btw)
Lucifer:Â Charlie! You don't understand. Heaven never listens. They didn't listen to me. They won't listen to you.
The protectiveness again:
Lucifer:Â I just don't want you to be crushed by them like-like I was.
The sheer softness and love in his expression (both of theirs honestly)
(Their ENTIRE song honestly)
His reluctance and concern for her going to Heaven, but pride and encouragement anyway:
Lucifer:Â Okay, I can get you the meeting, but once you're in Heaven, I won't be able to go with you. Will you be ok?
Charlie:Â I'll be fine.
Lucifer: That's my girl. Good luck kiddo.
His protectiveness again
Lucifer: YOU COME AT ME, AND MY DAUGHTER! DON'T FORGET, YOU'RE IN MY HOUSE, BITCH!
The way he comforts her
♪ Come on, little lady, why the frown? ♪
♪ In the last 10,000 years ♪
♪ You're the first one to change this town! ♪
♪ You can do this! Now I know it! ♪
♪ For your story has just begun! ♪
The sheer gentleness and love in his expression. The encouragement and pride. It's giving dad, ya'll.
And there was a time in season 2 where we got some of that again
The entire scene here when he gets Charlie away from the reporters and is encouraging her
Charlie:Â Wow. Thanks for the escape, Dad. Ugh, I don't know what's wrong with me.
Lucifer:Â Well, you know, your friend and your old hotel both kind of died, so I think you're allowed to be a little off, sweetheart.
Charlie:Â I miss her, too. But she'd be proud of me, you think?
Lucifer:Â Oh, honey. She'd be so proud of you. Are you kidding? At least, I'd hope so.
Lucifer: Hey, hey. Just take a deep breath, okay? The show must go on, Charlie. And you were born for this spotlight.
This is the only scene in season 2 that mirrors what we saw in season 1.
We went from all of THAT to Lucifer not giving a shit that Charlie is being harassed by Vox (and harassed is the word he uses) and hiding behind a goddamn couch because Charlie is mad at him
Are we being for real right now? Why the fuck is he cowering from Charlie? His daughter.
Why does HE look like a child being chastised. I get him feeling guilty, maybe even ashamed, and no ones enjoys being yelled at, but like??? Come on. Come on.
Has anyone's dad every acted like this when they're adult kid is mad at them? Can any of you imagine your dad shrinking away from you yelling at them? Is it just me? Am I the crazy one here?
Lucifer just...
He did not feel like much of a dad this season and him being a father is a big part of his character. The most he contributed to this season was being a battery to Vox's machine, other than that he kind of just felt like some random guy. Why does his hate boner for Alastor outweigh him wanting to help Charlie for the sole reason of helping her?
He hated Alastor in season 1, yes, but I never got the impression that his hate of Alastor would impact him more than his love for Charlie.
I still like Lucifer, I do, but there are a lot of things in season 2 that lessened him as a character for me. He felt more genuine and parental in season 1 and he sure as hell didn't act stupid. Silly, insecure, depressed, and prideful, yes. But not stupid.
Hopefully season 3 will bring him back up for me, but ngl I'm apprehensive of how he'll be written if season 2 is foreshadowing for what'll we be getting. Crossing my fingers though.

Let’s talk about Alastor. Buckle in, this one is a doozy. This has been a long time coming, but thanks to @mak3morn for inspiring me to finish this.
Note: This deals with some pretty heavy content including racism and mentions of sexual assault. Full disclosure, I am mixed-race but not black. I did my best to contextualize the information thoughtfully and factually in an effort to help others understand this character. I find him to be extremely fascinating and the richness of his character deserves attention and care. Take care when reading!
Alastor lived and died within the Jim Crow era of racial segregation in the south. He was born around the turn of the century and based on the design of his clothing and background he likely died around 1930-1935 and he was in his late thirties to possibly very early 40s. His heyday would have actually been closer to the 1920s, when prohibition laws were in full swing and massive shifts in the music scene led to the birth of the blues and jazz. New Orleans was something of an enigma, despite the religious piety and traditional culture, hidden speakeasies and mixed-race clubs dotted the city, always toeing the line between ravenous customers and the threat of police raids.Â
Slavery continued to be a very real and looming presence in Alastor’s life. Having only been legally abolished in 1865, he was barely one generation removed from the last of Louisiana’s emancipations. He would have personally known people who were slaves, possibly even his own family members.Â
Alastor’s skin color appears to be a bit lighter than the other black people around him. The history of interracial relationships in Louisiana is unique because of its ties to French colonisation. Louisiana Creole, broadly-speaking, is an ethnolinguistic group of people descended from Europeans, Indigenous populations, and the African diaspora. The echoes of a French practise known as Plaçage (coming from “placer”--which means something like “to place with”) was a practise in the late 18th century or so where european men entered into something similar to a common-law marriage with free African women. These interracial couplings were a practical solution to a problem that plagued colonists during the early stages of settlement. The colonies were rough places and living there was hard work, European women were just not interested in getting on a dirty, cramped boat for weeks to live in such brutal conditions. If you wanted companionship, sex, or maybe a little family, your best bet was to enter into one of these so-called “left-handed” marriages, at least until you made some money and found yourself a “proper” (i.e. European) wife.Â
The practice died out in the early 1800s but the impact followed and likely influenced future generations even through the racial segregation era that was soon to follow. This means that the population of Louisiana was vibrantly mixed long before Alastor’s time. I believe that based on the time period, his skin colour, and some small hints about his parentage– Alastor’s father was likely a white man who was not legally allowed to live with or claim Alastor as his own. Under Jim Crow, the “one-drop” rule meant that Alastor for all intents and purposes was a negro, and subject to the harsh segregation practices regardless of his mixed heritage. The question of how he fit into the community might not have been so clear. Who do you belong to when you are neither fully black nor white?
If Alastor’s mother was darker-skinned than him, it would have become increasingly clear that he didn’t quite belong to her world– and yet she was likely his refuge and safe place in every way. A white father would have been so incredibly alien from what he was used to, he would have spoken differently, dressed and carried himself differently. It would have become glaringly obvious where he stood in comparison to this. This being said, Alastor’s mother likely raised him all on her own, probably working her fingers to the bone to give him things like piano lessons. I like to think that during this point in his life, Alastor still spoke and behaved more like his mother. I bet they spent long nights cuddling and listening to the radio. I believe he was very attached to her, and possibly the only person he has ever loved.
We see this influence in his interactions with men and women. The women in Alastor’s life tend to be “safe”, where he is the least guarded and aggressive version of himself (both in his life and afterlife.) He does not see them as inherently threatening, even when they hold enormous personal power, like Rosie, who he seems to regard more as an obstacle. His interactions with men, however, are much different, for a series of complicated reasons.
As Alastor would have come of age, he likely noticed two things. The first being that the more he “acted” white, the more opportunities he got. He probably spent hours practising the Mid-Atlantic dialect he’s so well-known for. It probably drew the ire of those in the black community who felt that he wasn’t “black enough” to really belong. Would they have chastised him for “putting on airs” and making himself out to be “better” than everyone? Sacrificing the community he grew up with may have seemed like a just cause to scrape together a better life for himself and his mother. As he developed his voice, others must have noticed how lovely he sounded– and what better career for someone who doesn’t want to be seen, but heard…than radio? Radio was the equalizer of Alastor’s existence. The one place where he could successfully reconcile and hold all the pieces of himself at once. It’s no mystery as to why he’s so attached to radio, it liberated him dramatically from the constraints of his life as a mixed-race individual.Â
The second was that he, perhaps seemingly overnight, caught the eye of everyone around him because (let’s be real here) he’s strikingly pretty. He’s willowy and graceful, has a dazzling smile, warm brown eyes, and a shock of curls neatly piled on his head. He’s a talented piano player, a lovely singer and loves to drink and dance. What a catch he would be! He likely also noticed that he was catching the eye of men… white men, to be specific. The hypersexualization of black populations to justify the exploitation of black bodies was (and is) alive and well during this time, and white men who were inclined to seek other men likely felt that Alastor was novel and exotic, as well as feminine enough to counteract and rationalize their internal homophobia.
His blackness made him a very explicit target and he had to be acutely aware of this. He was in an extremely precarious and dangerous position. As he was permitted to access more and more spaces he would not normally be allowed into (due to increasing fame and “pretty privilege”), the more eyes leered…wayward hands “accidentally” brushed against him, drunken strangers might wrap around his shoulders and suggest they “go someplace a little quieter”. It’s hard to imagine that some of these men didn’t attempt to take him by force. Perhaps some even succeeded.
Alastor’s attachment to his mother (and the likelihood of an absent father) tells us that his formative experiences with men framed them as “takers”. Men show up when they want something, then disappear. Attention and love is conditional. Not giving men (especially white men) what they want results in violence. Men always want something from you, and will say anything to get it. Men especially want things from black people. Men clearly want Alastor’s body. He is not going to allow any part of himself to be taken if he can help it.Â
We see this dramatic difference in male-on-male dynamics with Alastor in every way once he’s dead. His form of self-preservation focuses entirely on fortifying himself so fully as to avoid any possibility of another male overpowering him. Remember– he doesn’t tend to see women as threatening. He makes a (bad) deal with the first demon he can make contact with to secure an extremely powerful position in hell, and spends a lot of time in what I can only describe as managing some kind of infernal pecking order– he spends all of his time identifying, stalking and devouring those who he perceives as a potential overtaker. His first instinct when entering a room is to seek and destroy whomever he thinks is the most powerful male in the room. Despite having the cunning and patience of an ambush predator, he sometimes loses the plot and tries taking on someone who is way out of his league (case in point: Adam; Lucifer.)Â
The details about Alastor’s existence in the afterlife are not so baffling when you focus in. Mostly, they are heartbreaking and reveal a rich character who lived and died in an unforgiving time and place. He was targeted for being a feminine-looking black man. People made it clear to him that they felt entitled to his body. He learned that staying safe meant he needed to be affable. He learned to hide behind a smile at all times.Â
He is a person defined by liminal spaces. He straddles the line between so many different states: black identity and white identity. Femininity and masculinity. Sexuality and asexuality. Modernity and tradition. Control and powerlessness. Privilege and marginalization. Predator and prey. Never quite existing fully in one state, always balancing to achieve his goals and avoid danger.
He lived so much of his life being targeted– sometimes from his own community, often from the law, and always from the people who could grant him the most power. The target he was born with was his skin color.Â
The man who railed against being prey by becoming a predator met his fitting end through a hole in his skull compliments of the hunter who mistook him for a deer. His daily reminder of what he will always be– a target, is visible any time he looks in the mirror. His perpetual smile stitched in place, mocking him, unable to frown even if he wanted to. Men still leering at him–wanting things from him everywhere he turns.
The most ruthless punishment of all: his dark skin colour gone, now some sickly greige, far from the warm, dark tone he had in life. The thing that defined his entire time on earth and his final connection with his mother, stripped in a brutal cosmic sentence. This to me, seems like his true tragedy.Â
(Author’s note: I know that the character design got a slightly darker skin tone in season 2, but it’s still not QUITE as dark nor warm as his human skin tone was– enough so that he doesn’t read as black when people see him in his demon form. If anything, I think he’s just deer-coloured.)
Aren't you guys kinda over feminizing Alastor a little bit????? like I get it that we want him to sub/bottom, but aren't you guys doing the same thing you hate that people do with Lucifer???? Like Alastor to me would never wear a dress? unless like he's joking or something??
....Alastor wore a nun outfit....out of the two, he's canonically worn a dress.
If you're going just by the show--no headcanons, no fanon, no tropes, no fan-art--Alastor has exhibited more fem-like qualities, has acted more feminine, than Lucifer ever has. I'd go as far to say that Lucifer is actually pretty masculine in the show, he just happens to have a pretty face.
And I mean, we don't know if Lucifer would wear a dress either. He's only ever worn pants, shirt, and a jacket, we have no evidence that he would wear a dress. But people like to put him in them anyway because of ✨vibes✨ - which I totally get. Vibes are important. It's not like I don't think Lucifer wouldn't wear a dress. I totally think he would and he'd rock it.
As for Alastor only ever wearing a dress for a joke, I definitely agree, but I think that guy would do anything for the bit. He'll do whatever it takes to get the last laugh. He trolls for the sake of trolling. He's a menace. But it's not like he wore the nun outfit as a joke, it was more of a manipulation tactic when you think about it. He's as faithful as a nun 🙏 see how faithful he is, Charlie? He'll never lead you astray.
I love Alastor's masculine and feminine sides. He does both so well. If I have been leaning more into feminine Alastor recently, well, it could be on account that I haven't come across a lot of content of him being feminine, and make the content you wanna see, right?
But thing is, I don't think we have been over-feminizing Alastor, at least not to the extent that Lucifer has been feminized, in my opinion. I mean, Lucifer has been feminized to the point that he's--in some cases, not in all cases--unrecognizable from the show. Whereas with Alastor, at most, I've been posting gifs from the show of him being his girlypop self. Something's not mathing, because it's not adding up. These two things feel very different.
Tell me if I'm wrong, cuz I very well might be, but I'm getting the vibes that this is going back to Alastor's ego being the reason he wouldn't wear or act in a specific way.
I just don't see how his ego would stop him from wearing a dress. It's not like he has anything against feminine clothes or attributes, nor do we have any evidence at all that he would be against it. If anything, I get the vibes that he appreciates and respects femininity more than masculinity. I don't see why he would be against being in a dress, or appearing feminine, when he's done both in the show.
It smells of misogyny. My boy is many things, but a misogynist he ain't.

This twitter post made me discover the Behind the Scenes of the pilot, specifically regarding the work around the sound effects and music ambience.
So I stopped the video and screenshotted everything - except error messages and gibberish - that was written down when OP specifically referred to Alastor's radio effects at timestamp 13:45
I honestly don't put much stocks into these - especially since they're from the pilot era and from someone that worked on the pilot's sounds, and keeping into account the last three screenshots are being jokey or breaking character - but in case they have relevance, I'm willing to put them in the "Alastor is a Weird Case Study of a Sinner - SILLY" folder, which coincidentially happens to be inside the "Alastor is connected to Roo" folder
