Alastor is getting married to Lilith and Lucifer. It's a big deal because they're royalty and so a ton of people he doesn't know are there including a lot of the Goetia.
Around this same time Stella and Andrealphus have decided that Octavia will be getting married whether she wants to or not. So while at this wedding Stella and Andrealphus spend a lot of time pointing out certain things that they'd want to have at Octavia's wedding at least they are when they're not talking shit about the sinner the king and queen are marrying which is actually a common topic amongst the Goetia recently.
Octavia just cannot take all of this. She doesn't want to be here and she doesn't want to talk about the upcoming wedding that's being forced on her. She ends up hiding in the bathroom the entire ceremony and her family doesn't even notice she's gone.
Then it's the after party. She stays far away from her mother and uncle and goes to the open bar. She orders a drink and the bartender gives it to her just not caring at all about how old she could be because it's hell. Her plan is to drink and forget but someone steals her glass before she can even pick it up.
She looks over at the guy who stole his drink and he says that she looks a little young to be drinking away her sorrows. She's pissed and asks who he is and he introduces himself as Alastor the radio demon.
That name was familiar. She looks away from his face and at his outfit and sees he's wearing all white. This was his wedding. He was the guy everyone around her seemed to hate for no good reason.
He stays and chats with her. Octavia doesn't understand why. This is his wedding, he has a ton of guests, friends, and family that he could be talking to. He could be dancing with his husband and wife but he's not. Instead he's sitting with her at the bar and asking if she's alright.
Octavia tells Alastor about the arranged marriage her mother and uncle set up. She says that it was common amongst Goetia and that she should have seen it coming but she still can't hide how upset she is about it.
Alastor asks about her father. She tries to shrug it off and ends up just telling him that he's not around anymore.
After Octavia denies his recommendation of familicide and even his own offer of killing her family for her Alastor simply asks if she wanted to stay at the Morningstar palace. Octavia thinks that's insane for so many reasons like she just met this guy and he's explained in detail how he'd personally kill her mother and uncle and he hadn't even asked the king and queen. On the other hand though she REALLY doesn't want to get married.
Alastor drags her off to the king and queen and just announces that Octavia will be staying with them. They both just look from Alastor to Octavia and tell him that he can't just steal this random teenage girl like what the hell was he even talking about?
Alastor explains the situation. The king and queen ask Octavia even more questions about her mother, uncle, father, and about her home life in general. She has no idea what manages to convince them but they end up agreeing.
So instead of Alastor, Lilith, and Lucifer going on the honeymoon they had planned they end up legally adopting a teenager they met the night before.
Octavia is almost eighteen so her plan is to stay at the Morningstar Palace and once it's her birthday she'll leave and figure things out on her own. She expected them to treat her like a house guest at most and at worst a charity case. They don't do that.
It's really awkward at first. Lucifer is trying too hard, Lilith acts more professional around her than anything, Charlie is insanely excited about having a sister. It's weird and she doesn't know how to act towards any of this but as they get more comfortable and start calming down she starts to feel like she's actually welcome there.
Eventually Lucifer even convinces her to give her dad another chance and after a bit she does. She meets up with Stolas and they start to patch things up. She gets to see Loona again too and she even starts to get along with Blitzø.
Octavia stays with the Morningstars because her dad and Blitzø don't have the money to support her or any space for her to stay with them and Octavia finds that she's actually okay with that because now she knows that they do really care about her.
When Octavia went to stay with the Morningstars she thought she'd lose the only family she had left but in the end she gained a bigger family and is happier than she's ever been.
