because yes, we make these things because we enjoy it and we want to share it with everyone but… what do we have to be grateful for?? nowadays, we’re lucky if we even get 100 notes at this point. and if we do, you can be damn well certain that the ratio will be way off– eg; 70% likes to 30% reblogs. probably even worse than that, come to think of it. 

and when half of those reblogs are people posting unnecessary comments underneath the edit or putting shady comments in the tags about the subject (why reblog it at all then?) or about something trivial like how you used a different colour than they themselves would have used (to which i say, go and make your own??) … it’s just!!! it’s exhausting. truly.

without creators, you would all be staring at a dead dash (which we’re getting close to actually lmao) and this website would have no function. creators are what keep tumblr alive.

…Ardyn probably breaks down in outright tears when he hears. the. story.  His daughter. His daughter, his precious daughter, his and Aera’s both - he’d never known what had happened to her, he hadn’t even dared to beg Somnus for her life (because what if Somnus learned of her existence from him,  what if he hurt. his daughter).  He hadn’t known, and he’d spent uncounted decades with - the most terrible of imaginings running through his head. What if she was hurt or alone or Somnus had found her or the Astrals had punished her for the temerity of being his daughter what if what if oh my daughter my daughter I’m sorry it’s all my fault I’M SORRY - 

And now he leans that she ran. That she was found and free and loved. That she united a country, that she never forgot him, that she told her children (her children!) about him, that she spent her live forging and setting in motion the plans that would eventually see him free - 

That this woman, these people, sitting across from him now, are his many-times-distance grandchildren, Vitae’s descendants, and they love him.

I wanna write a Regis soulmate au

OC is either a cafe owner or a pastry chef in the citadel and if he’s a pastry chef in the citadel he and regis meet through a tiny noctis who sneaked into the kitchens for something to eat and wound up being found by said oc who just laughed and asked if he and ignis would like to learn how to make cheesecake.

cue a scene of sheer cuteness and that’s what regis comes into the kitchens to find his kid and ignis doing.

and then I’m just, thinking of soul marks beings like....marks representing your soulmate that glow when you’re near them so Regis walks into the Citadel kitchens and his wrist starts fucking. glowing.

and then Mr. Pastry Chef starts glowing as well and Noctis is just ????!!???!?!?!?!?

And Regis is just ????!

And Mr. Pastry Chef is ‘holy shit holy shit holy shit my soulmate is the fUCKING KING’

One particular day someone who used to be cruel to you runs up to you, tears coating their face and panting “please tell ‘em to lay off it! I’m sorry, so sorry!!”

The Citadel is a huge place with a ton of internal security and stuff and lots of staff/guards/etc so like-.

Does it have a daycare?

For the kiddos of the single parent employees or employees who’s spouse can’t watch the kids that day for WHATEVER reason? Does it have a daycare?

And who RUNS IT if they do?

There’s probably a Crownsguard or five in there at minimum for security (nothing says “target for blackmail and hostage situations” like unguarded kiddos of the cooks and servants who change the royal bedsheets) but who RUNS it? Who plays with the kiddos and ensures everyone is fed and watered and has nap time and that bullying is a no-no and all that stuff?

Idk why this has suddenly occurred to me but now the idea is here and I’m curious.

And also wondering how to incorporate it into a WIP.

Would work for Stand Strong. Hmmm.

*snerk* imagine a romance one-shot or something with Regis and an OC where the OC is the daycare worker for the Citadel Daycare and Noctis wanders down there somehow, which he is not supposed to because SECURITY but the worker is stupidly oblivious to the news/royalty despite working in the CITADEL and doesn’t even bat an eye at suddenly having an extra kiddo. Figures it’s a late drop-off of the child of a worker’s sibling (they do that sometimes, when a servant’s sib or cousin needs help with a kid but the servant is working, sometimes they smuggle them into the daycare even though it’s TECHNICALLY against the rules but hey it’s not like a five year old is gonna be an assassin) and just rolls with it. The new kiddo, Noct, is adorable and sweet and shy and hates veggies but otherwise is very polite, and apparently IS the kid of a worker because his dad “works upstairs signing papers”. Daycare worker assumes kiddo’s parent is like- a new secretary or something and doesn’t. Put together. The name “Noct”. Or the black hair and blue eyes. Spends all shift with a tiny Noct on her proverbial coat strings because he’s too shy to play with the other kids on such short notice but he’s lonely. Has NO idea that the rest of the Citadel is LOSING ITS MIND because the pRINCE IS MISSING.

How the Crownsguard guarding the daycare don’t notice their prince trundling in the footsteps of the daycare person is a MYSTERY.

Then FINALLY someone notices the prince. Like- workers are coming to pick up their kids and more than one are servants for the royal levels and are like ???? what’s HE doing down here???? and the daycare worker is like: oh you know his parent? Can you tell him to come pick up his son? He’s a dear but my shift is ending soon and the daycare is closing in like, an hour.

All the servants, realizing that this worker has NO CLUE who Noct is:…. sure we’ll do that.

And then KING FLIPPING REGIS shows up ten minutes later and Noct gleefully hugs his Very Frazzled Parent who had been in the middle of panicking and thinking Noct had been kidnapped or something and just- he’d wandered down into the daycare.

Daycare worker has a long, slow moment to realize AH, that’s what Noct meant when his dad “works upstairs signing papers” and then there’s the KING and the very intimidating SHIELD asking why she didn’t TELL ANYONE where the prince was and is just like-

I didn’t know he was the prince?

and that would be how Regis meets Noct’s future stepmom.

This would be especially hilarious if it’s like- a soulmate AU and so Regis has gone his entire life with a shy scrawl of “I didn’t know he was the prince?” on his person somewhere and so Regis hears it and his brain Bluescreens so hard.
