You Gotta Wakey

"Hhmmm, I missed you. Like, really, really missed you. Nerd." Your older brother, Sicheng says as he hugs you in the car he was waiting for you in. You went to visit him in Seoul, and his management said that, for your safety, he couldn’t greet you in the airport. They also said, in the unlikely scenario fans saw him, there should be another member present, so people didn’t start jumping to conclusions, so, because in some of your text conversations you had mentioned that you adored his younger member, Chenle, and he was the same age as you, he’d take him to get you. But, the thing was, you weren’t made aware of these plans. So, that was a bit of a shock.

"Hi, there! I’m Chenle! You must be Y/n, WinWinnie has told us all so much about you, it’s nice to finally meet you, I hope we can be friends! Hey! Maybe me and Jis-" Chenle started rambling at you once you came out of the hug, getting excited at the prospect of a new friend. However, in his excitement, he forgot his hyung's very explicit instructions to try and not overwhelm you, because you would get very shy around new people.

"Chenle, calm down a bit. You’ll have plenty of time to talk to her, she’s here for two months. For now, Y/n's tired, we should let her rest before she’s chucked into the screaming pits of SM." Sicheng tied to get you to rest your head on his shoulder to go to sleep, but you shook your head.

"I slept the entire plane ride here, Sicheng, there was this nice old lady in the seat next to me, she told me stories about her life and made sure I rested, then woke me up once we had landed. I’m fine. And, I wanna talk to Chenle, you know, before I can’t hear him over the 'screaming pits of SM'." You leaned forward too see the younger boy on the other side of your brother, and put your hand out for him to take. He’s too cute to be scared of. "Hi, Chenle, nice to meet you."

"Sicheng, what does that sign say?" You ask your brother.

"I don’t know," he replies, not looking up from his phone.

"What about that?"

"I don’t know."

"What does that o-"

"Y/n, I do not know, I am not looking at the signs, I do not care about the signs. Please, just shut up."

..."WinWin hyung, what does that sign say?"

"Chenle."

"Look, there’s the SM building! This is going to be so much fun, Y/n! I’m going to introduce you to Jisung, and Renjun, and Jaemin, and, oh oh, you’ll love Kun, he’s like a mother, and Yukhei is really cool, too, and you gotta Mark, he’s so cute almost as cute as you!" Chenle grabs your hand and starts pulling you into the company building, Sicheng trailing behind. You had already left your luggage at WayV's dorm, where you would be staying, and now all Chenle wanted to do was give you the grand tour. Once you were in the lobby, he began to drag you toward the gates, and pulled out his key card, but the manager stopped him, reminding him that you needed to get a pass of your own.

"Um, do I not get to spend time with my sister, who came to see me?" Sicheng tried to ask, but you were already in the elevator with your new friend, on your way up. "I guess I don’t. This is gonna be a long two months."

You didn’t see his point.

Jisung was half asleep, because it was freaking midnight when you were pulled away from your other half. Boy, did you miss your bed. "So much for sunlight. It’s the middle of the night."

"Chenle said he had something he wanted to show us, and it couldn’t wait. Something about the most beautiful sight he’s ever seen." Jisung mumbled into your shoulder, his exhaustion making it hard for him to stay upright.

"GUYS, HURRY UP! THEY MIGHT LEAVE!" Chenle shouted from up ahead. You and Jisung caught up to him in a clearing, and you gasped as soon as you saw it.

The air around you was filled with fireflies, dancing all around you. Like tiny stars, come to wish you goodnight. As you walked towards Chenle, he tried to gauge your reaction, but your gaze was filled with awe and admiration, the lights of the bugs making your eyes sparkle, just as he imagined they would. The way the light hit you, made you look even more beautiful to him, and it pained him to think that you still weren’t his.

But, he had right now. He had these memories. The memories of the spring blossoms' petals falling into your hair, making a halo. The memories of you laughing as a firefly land in Jisung's nose, making him sneeze, and the closest of the insects to him fly away. They were more precious to him than anything, and he decided right there, this was all he ever wanted. His best friend by his side, making him laugh the laugh that made you laugh, which in turn made Jisung laugh, and you.

"Please, what, Y/n? You need to be a bit more specific."

"Brian Kang. Kang Younghyun. Young K. PLEASE teach me how to play bass," you beg your boyfriend, ready to get down on you knees. Brian just smirks and side eyes you.

"What do I get in return?" from the look in his eye you know exactly what he wants. You decide to play along, but don’t intend to give him what he wants. Wrapping your arms around his neck, you kiss the corner of his mouth.

"Hmm, my eternal gratitude and love." He looks in your eyes, and holds your waist against him.

"Okay, but, I kinda want a bit more than that, you know exactly what I want."

"You’ll be my bestest ever friend in the whole wide world!" You peck his nose, and he smiles at you.

"Perfect. That is all I have ever wanted." Brian says as he let’s go of you to walk across the bedroom to get his bass. He places it in your lap, and tells you all of the basics.

"Why?" He gives you a confused look.

"Just do it, or I’ll kick your shin so you do it anyway, beanpole." He does as you ask, knowing full well you wouldn’t. You’re too soft for him. When he reaches the right height, you grab his cheeks, and leave a quick peck on his lips, giggling and skipping off straight after.

"Hey, Hyunjin, have you seen my s-" Minho walks in, seeing a frozen Hyunjin bent down, with cherry red cheeks. "Um, you okay, man?"

"I’m absolutely perfect, why do you ask?" He stands straight, and goes to get a drink, wondering where you went, and how you could just give away your first kiss so casually to him.

He soon finds out where you are, though, when he hears Felix shouting.

"I’m sorry, Jae, but we both knew this would happen at some point," you tell him. He nods, wiping his eyes.

"I just wish it could have happened later."

Recently, you were offered your dream job, but you'd have to move to America to take it. Jaehyun knew how much it meant to you, he just expected his job would be why you had to break up, not yours. He never thought you realising your potential, and becoming so independent would break him so easily.

As you turned to go into the airport, Jaehyun thought of running after you, begging you to stay in South Korea. To stay with him. But, he remembered the look of pure elation when you got that email, and realised that would be unfair, not matter how much he loved you. You never stopped him from living his dream, he had not right to get in the way of yours.
