queerbaiting is an incredibly complex subject and i do believe its ramifications expand beyond cinema and television – that is to say i do think it's 100% possible, in the context of a specific industry, for a real person to profit off of the lgbt community by faking or exaggerating interest and membership. but it's in equal amounts ironic and sad that, for the most part, the queerbaiting accusations are being hurled at teenagers and 20 year olds (bisexuals being the most obvious targets) on the internet who simply do not profit from it.
