This actually makes me so sad...

Everything ended on such a bleak note, both in universe and in the fandom itself.

And now it's over.

The story and message that so many people fell in love with in the book and S1 was not only brushed aside, but rendered pointless in the new canon.

Anathema, Newt, Shadwell, Madame Tracy, Nina, Maggie and ALL the people of the old universe were erased from existence without a say or even a mention.

There was never an old bookshop on the corner of Whickber Street, and never a vintage Bentley parked just outside it.

And Aziraphale and Crowley, OUR Aziraphale and Crowley, never made it to the south downs, despite what we were promised.

Because what follows his breath is very much not a kiss or a declaration of love, like Aziraphale did with different words -although he didn’t actually say anything like that to Crowley. He had a short chat with God. Oh, this is becoming another rant entirely.

They literally wanted us to think that Crowley was going to say something about his relationship with Aziraphale or kiss him. They had him say “You know what I want” in that tone to mirror what Aziraphale had just said, “Because I only want one thing. And that's not what this is about anymore. What do you want, Crowley?” And we are also meant to assume that what Aziraphale wants is Crowley, because he feels complete with Crowley and god knows Aziraphale loves him. Literally. She knows.

I don’t think “everything is meant” anymore, but this? This definitely was.

that he blushed when he described crowley as a wily adversary (keeps me on my toes)

that he smiled when he realized the bentley was back without a scratch after having blown up

that he refused crowley a suicide pill

that he kept an eye on crowley for 26 years after 1941, then sought him out and gave him the holy water so that he didn't have to get it himself. but i can't have you risking your life. not even for something dangerous. if we must quote it then at least let's quote it right.

that he went to hell for crowley and made sure they wouldn't bother him anymore

that he only ever cared about crowley not being destroyed

that no way aziraphale didn't check on crowley in three years

And if you did like the finale ao3 is still great so we all win

These BTS have so many twisting knives in them.

It really got to me when David and Michael talked about (paraphrasing) how fans connected on a deep level with the characters, and that people who felt different, or like they didn't fit in, could see themselves in Aziraphale and Crowley... and then how they chose annihilation, giving up on their own happiness.

Fuck, that perfectly summed up how dark and devastating the finale was.

David and Michael are so sweet, thoughtful, and wonderful. Along with the director and all the rest of the cast and crew. How wild that this is what it all came to 💔💔💔

Honestly it's almost funny that what should be treasured BTS footage is low key traumatizing 😂😂😂😭😭😭
