Some process of my “demon Dennis” drawing. It only needs some last finishing touches and maybe a background but I wanted to share where I’m at right now anyway :)

I ended up adding some rather quick colour to the sketch I did yesterday- Spot the blushy blush and shiny wedding ring^^

-Hucklerobby As Roommates AU-

(An idea that came to my mind when I started drawing this)

Robby finds Dennis instead of Trinity and offers his guest bedroom to Dennis until the med student can get back to his feet, they get along well and fall into a comfortable routine (spoiler alert: Dennis ends up staying with Robby since their dynamic works so well and Robby genuinely enjoys having Dennis around).

But then Dennis ends up catching feelings for the man and he’s as subtle about it as a sledgehammer.

The younger man is relieved that his boss (friend? roommate?) is kind enough to ignore it and let him stay despite the awkwardness and inconvenience of it all but at the same time Dennis’ selfish and needy side is begging for Robby’s attention. To acknowledge the elephant in the room.

Fast forward to 10 months after Dennis moved in, Robby finally cracks after a very chaotic and stressful morning in the ER. Dennis had been following him like a duckling for hours and usually it wouldn’t bother Robby, but the day has been shit so far to say the least and he just can’t handle someone breathing down his neck. And giving him heart eyes the way Dennis is.

So he ends up dragging Dennis up on the rooftop to have a talk that quickly goes sideways.

The younger man is taken back by how tense and genuinely pissed off Robby is at him, his snappy and harsh words cutting deep like a scorching blade.

He’s told to stay in his lane, to remember that they’re at work and Robby is still his boss. That Dennis is being a liability to him since he can’t concentrate properly when Dennis is always right there. He feels like a mother hen instead of the chief of the ER and he sure as hell has better things to do than humour Dennis’ little crush on him and keep him entertained by letting him tag along.

Robby keeps talking in more and more heated manner, not fully paying attention to Dennis, who in return, has started silently crying. The final words feel like a strong slap across the face, the older man’s eyes finally meeting Dennis’ as his expression slightly softens into something that the young doctor can’t really recognise.

“Listen, Dennis… Whatever you’re- what you think you’re feeling, isn’t real. You’re just confused and it’ll pass and you’ll forget about me. I’m not worth it, kid.” Robby says in a quiet voice, his jaw clenching afterwards as he breaks the eye contact.

Dennis shakes his head.

“N-no- I’m not- Robby, please-“ He chokes out, the words feeling heavy on his tongue.

The last thing Dennis wants is for Robby to think that he’s some dumb kid who can’t tell the difference between a silly crush and having raw feelings for someone. His feelings are not fake. He’s not “confused”. Sometimes he wished he was, since it would make his day to day life so much easier. But unfortunately they’re so painfully real that he’s pretty sure it’s simply impossible for him to fall in love with anyone else. It has to be Robby. It sounds like a cliche from some generic romance novel, but no one else compares. So, to hear the man belittle his feelings in such way hurts more than anything he’s ever experienced. The other things the man said sting like hell as well but they’re nothing compared to the things he’s heard back in Nebraska. He has a thicker skin than people might realise. But for some reason, his weakness seems to be Michael Robinavitch.

Robby grimaces and rubs at this neck, his gaze dropping to his feet before flicking back up to meet Dennis’ eyes. He swallows thickly for a few times, his eyes hold so much uncertainty in them that it makes Dennis’ chest feel tight with anxiety and dread.

He has a bad feeling about whatever Robby is about to say.

“I think it would be for the best if you move out.” The older man manages to say after a long pause in a hushed voice, the tone rough and a bit shaky around the edges.

Sharing a progress pic of my current project since it’s kind of my thing, lol. But basically I wanted to draw Dennis in a Zombie Apocalypse AU setting.

I finally started colouring this so I wanted to share some progress. Still nowhere near finished, though.. But Hansry, my beloved.

I recently stumbled upon KCD and I fell in love with the game AND Hansry- So here’s a WIP of my current and first ever drawing of them, I’ll colour it later but wanted to share the lineart.

Posting some progress since I haven’t worked on this in a bit (I really should finish this and move on to a new project, sigh)🫠

Anyway, I love me some sad middle aged man with big o’ puppy dog eyes.

…and my hand slipped so now I’m in a bigger pickle, goddamn it all.

He’s way too adorable not to draw, like come on🫩
