yes, clothing does not equal gender. i agree. but why the fuck do you feel the need to ONLY EVERY BRING THAT UP WHEN TALKING ABOUT YOUNG NEWLY OUT TRANS WOMEN?!? many of whom have clothing as the ONLY WAY TO EXPRESS THEIR GENDER

personal anecdote time. when i was younger, like 13 or so, i was severely depressed and suicidal. and a large part of that was because of dysphoria. i couldn't transition, and i couldn't come out because i had an extremely abusive family and lived in a very transphobic community that punished any non conformity.

i wore a dress in the privacy of my own room. because the thought of having to live as a man for the rest of my life made me hate myself so much i attempt suicide multiple times.

im glad i failed. im glad i got out. im glad i transitioned.

if you had gone back in time, and told a younger me "you're not actually a girl! you're just a feminine man! and also you're transphobic for thinking that wearing a dress would make you trans", i guarantee you would have killed her. her death would've been inevitable, and her blood would be on your hands. im not even exaggerating in the slightest when i say that you saying stuff like that can and will drive closeted trans women tl suicide.

especially that last part. people treat the infrequent rare act of a cisman being called a girl accidentally as a far worse offense than actively and intentionally misgendering a trans woman

Rereading 'The line is covered in Jellyfish' by @yunuen while waiting for the next chapter as one does, and I always think about how the first scene could have gone for Viktor.

I imagine him with thoughts not fully connecting, and a sort of detached, sad acceptance of the fact that he is alone... it is what he deserves after all, isn't it?
