Working on some nice designs for my portfolio. Iâm having a lot of fun with packaging and paper toys, I think itâs a very nice way to tell stories thru pictures :) This one, of course, is inspired by the Val de loire castles, mainly by Azay le rideau Castle and the Chenonceau Castle with their lovely lake reflections :)
WHOOP WHOOP Itâs papertoy time ! Who can see Iâve been watching rings of power with these very elvish decorations?
A day ago I participated to the Meteor / Central Vapeur contest of 2019 and create and illustration for their beer label! As we didnât have any real theme and I didnât want to take too much of my time to create it, I decided to go for a not-so-original meteorite scene. Iâm not that proud of myself about my lack of idea but I donât regret it either, as I tried to go out of my confort zone a bit (DIDYOUSEE I didnât put any plants !! And I tried not to do to many details huhuh)

These two illustration have been created for the 24 H of illustration in Strasbourg. Thanks a lot to Central Vapeur that organized the whole project !The theme of 2018 was "Tropiques et météorites".
A rain distiller hidden in a wet and magical forest...
Who uses it? Is it the frogs company or is it the beetle community? What do they even do with it??

During the cold days of fall, strange frogs puts on their best clothes and start preparing Halloween. Perfect for the autumn days, this letter has been inspired by folk papercuts and imagery. The idea is simple, it's not only a letter-paper, but also an envelope! Just cut the square of the A4 paper with scissors, write to your dear ones and fold the letter as explained on the scrap you just cut. The original illustration of this letter has been made with gouache and watercolor. The letter is: -21 x 29,7 cm (A4) -120 gr mat quality paper If youâre interested by this stationery you can buy it here ;) :

An Alchemist sits on the roof of his home, reading the stars after taking his dinner in the night. "L'alchimiste" is a first experimentation for my next illustration series: Fantastic homes. The notion of home, a place where you feel safe and happy is a big inspiration to my work. Be it with family, friends or alone, they are special places that tells the stories of their owner, and you get transported to a new universe each time you enter one of them. I also was very inspired by game designs aesthetics. They have a way to show details and create immersive places with details, light and agencement that I admire a lot!The architecture of the alchemist's home is a reference to both Sen to chihiro and Howl's moving castle from Ghibli. The last mentioned animation is based on Alsacian architectures from Colmar, a city next to mine named Strasbourg, in France. I really wanted to give this house an Alsatian feeling, as I really like to add details from this regional imagery. (PS: I may add new illustrations that will accompany this one)Â
Lunar Herbiary
"Lunar herbiary" is a triptych made with gouache and watercolour. The plants are imaginary herbs and fruits inspired by childhood element of my garden, botanical studies and combined with aesthetic elements linked to astrological imagery.Â
This linoprint bell serie is inspired by all the 90s fairy books I read while growing up.
Brian Froud being one of the main and first that brought this strange feeling of the magic in the wood. Of course now, with my adult eyes, these book seems kinda kitsch by I cannot forget this dreamy warmth that brought me the reading of these volumes.
I particularly remember that in many of these works the text talked about bellflowers being a passage to the world of magic and death. So were dawn and sunrise of course, but bellflowers had a morbid reputation that said âIf you hear the ringing of the bellflower you hear the ringing of your own deathâ and I liked it very much. Of course the world of the dead means many things, it can also be associated to the world of dreams. To me, these worlds are linked to inspiration and creation, so this linoprint is a way to access to them.
_______
This work is made by linocut and is printed with etching ink on quality Nepalese paper. The paper is hand cut and is made with long and resistant Lokta fibers that gives a smooth, felt and textile like feeling. The lino is printed with strong and shiny typographic ink. Each linocut is homemade and handcut so there might be light differences in the inking and the sizing that gives the print itâs uniqueness !

đ"The warrior"đ A forearm tightly hold in itâs hand a red bleeding mass.
This textile sculpture was created for the exhibition âoctobre roseâ some years ago. I did not have the time to take proper pictures of it so here we are years later! đđ This exhibition was made for breast cancer awareness. I decided to create a warriorâs forearm, between skin and armour, victoriously grabbing a piece of flesh symbolising the cancer.
The arm is a cotton fabric printed monotype technique with my favourite color, a mix of blue and black. The bleeding flesh is made of red and orange flet, sewn and then embroidered with different textures and colors of pearls.
I really liked working on textile and I hope to make a collection of other warriors someday ! đ đWhat do you think? Would you like to see more textile sculptures on this tumblr? đđđ

âMandrake twinsâ
These monstruous siblings have been engraved for the FEFFS (Festival du film Fantastique de Strasbourg) with the âAtelier du bain aux Plantesâ and are a part of the linoprint workshop we created during the happening.
This engraving, like many of my other drawings, are divided in two distinctive characters. Itâs a topic that often comes up in my work that symbolise the contraction of choices and feelings you get when growing up. Good or bad, anger or hapiness, love or hate... Even gender. I have been teached that those concepts were always contrary when, in fact, you can feel or be them both at the same time.
Twins seems to be a way to express my confusion, I suppose.
Only one of these âMandrake twinsâ engravings are left on my shop at my tictail: http://oenothera.tictail.com/ (Only available to Europe for now)

A growing plant extend itâs leaves toward the sky as the roots grow deep inside the earth.
This tree of life is inspired by Alsatian imagery but I decided to let more place to the roots of the plants.
The roots symbolise the underneath of bloom. A slow and invisible growing that accumulate strength for the tree to age and expand. It's my hidden inspiration, a force, a pure feeling that come from the guts, like rage, sadness and hapiness.
The blooming flowers represent different stages of growth each of them being important in the developement of the self.
Three pieces of this âTree of lifeâ are available in the shop at http://oenothera.tictail.com/ .
They are printed on Lokta paper with golden typographic ink that give a peculiar light on this blue paper.
