so in harry potter canon, wizards use dragonhide is used in place of muggle leather. this brings a lot of questions for me. they eat beef, so what do they do with all the hides? but more importantly, if they don’t want to use muggle animals for wizarding usages, WHAT MAGICAL CREATURE DO THEY USE TO MAKE PARCHMENT???
i feel like everyone just pretends that parchment is made of paper. it isn’t, at least not historically. so all the parchment they use comes from animal skin.
