I’m really tired of seeing people broken up into labels of absolutes.

People are not just “good” or “bad”.

People are not a list of labels. 

People are complex, situations are complex.

I know, that makes it a lot harder when you want to just write off everything someone’s ever done as bad – but that’s not how people actually are, and it would do everyone good to stop pretending they are.

I am tired of hearing about the fear people have in putting themselves out there. And it is a scary thing! Putting yourself out there means subjecting yourself to people who want a really good reason to tear you down, who will jump at the first chance to feel “good” by labeling someone else as “bad”.

I reject this. I reject the idea that there should be fear in speaking up and talking about experiences and trying to reach an understanding of a situation.

I’m unhappy to see people spitefully urging others to cut off ties with their friends under the guise of “well, that person’s just inherently bad, so if you talk to them you’re bad too.” That is fucked up. You definitely have the right to let the friend know you don’t want to hear about whoever troubles you, but you do not at all have the right to decide who their friends should be. This includes guilt trips.

Anyway, just try to be more aware of others. Everyone else is a person like you. They might not have the same experiences as you. They might not understand how their words are harmful, or how what they’re doing is wrong. They certainly won’t if you never tell them.

Most people are trying to be good, but they’re going to mess it up sometimes. Try to keep that in mind. Even when people do really fucked up shit, sometimes they are trying to do good. “The road to hell is paved with good intentions” and all that.

Nothing gets solved, no growth happens when you put people into a box from which you’ll never let them escape.

Yes, you absolutely must be careful about people who have tendencies and patterns that are harmful to you. Sometimes people try to overcome those patterns and they fail, and you have to distance yourself from them: that is the sad reality of life. Sometimes though, they can overcome it. But they certainly won’t if the first thing you do is write them off after a fuck up. 

like i don’t think they’d need to mutilate them to change their design, they could just draw them different next time, they’re a drawing !! they’re a living drawing they Drew them just redraw them !! i don’t want to talk about arthur and delilah ‘resorting’ to mutilating thr toons for aesthetic purposes to match the vision or whatever i want to talk about the fact that the holiday toons don’t seem to like being alive Only Seasonally and arthur/delilah Have the power to easily change that and they Don’t!!! idk I think they’re bad people but i just don’t think they’re doing unethical human(toon) experimentation about it

This but Astro wakes up well-rested for what's probably the first time since Gardenview closed and spots Sprout sitting slumped over nearby, having fallen asleep himself trying to make sure Astro wasn't woken up.

Bonus goofy: Everyone who spotted them after Sprout fell asleep potentially just assuming it was some sort of bonding activity and being glad Sprout is trying to put aside whatever difference he has with Astro? So they don't wake them?

yeah I do…and I think he would feel absolutely awful about it he would be so sad. Astro seems to be one of the more aware twisteds but there’s def still bits of his mind gone and I think he would forget..it just makes him feel worse since he’s already so guilt-ridden

not anything too crazy, but it’s interesting to me that Astro isn’t actually sleeping when he checks in on people dreams, so I like to think he’s actually pretty sleep deprived and that’s why he’s always napping in weird spots and falling asleep constantly. It probs gets kinda bad sometimes and he gets very disoriented and so even small things can make everything worse..i think he should get some hot cocoa and a very comfy nice rest

I already knew Astro wouldn’t listen to Eggson's insistence to rest. But the "able" word suddenly gets a whole new meaning with this latest short. It’s like it was planned.

Does this mean Astro will never get to know a good night's rest? Cause we have seen time and time again that he puts the well-being of others above his own time and time again. And even when he himself sleeps, it’s filled with nightmares.

holy shit I didn’t even consider that, thats so interesting….do you think he would feel a sort of guilt about that? That he’s indirectly the reasons they’ve lost that piece of privacy…

I always saw Astro Twisting out of an enourmous amount of guilt not only towards Dandy, but also all the other Toons. "Despair and grief" were said to be the deciding factors in his transformation. This, to me, implies Astro had become Twisted when he was mourning those that ended up Twisting themselfs. Which, is a different kind of heartbreak.

The reveal that Astro doesn't sleep when doing his job modified my brain chemistry. It suddenly made his sleepy behavior all make sence.

But I never connected this to the rooms having no doors. At first, I thought it was because the founders were cutting down costs or something. Tho it makes more sence for there to be no doors to allow Astro to enter a Toon’s room as soundlessly as possible. Regardless of what said Toon might want.

Which HAS to affect Astro in some way. Bassie even directly tells him to stay out of her dreams. When he tries to talk about the nightmares of a respective Toon, he's avoided. Imagine being given a job that's taxing on your health but still end up unable to do anything to help those around you BECAUSE of said job.

A saying I keep seeing on TikTok is this: "Someone who sees too much, end up not fitting in anywhere."

This feels so Astro coded. Cause who knows the Toons better then they themselfs do other then him? And just how many know Astro truly? What if not even Dandy knows just how hard it is for Astro to do his job?
