I’ve been lurking for a while but finally caved and made a profile, this past season being the last and all. Anyway, here is my belated Fluff Crawlspace post. How I imagine the header of Sheldon and Amy’s super-asymmetry paper looked like. This is probably more nerdy than Fluff Crawlspace is supposed to be, but there you have it. (I do science stuff IRL, but the title is probably BS since I’m not a physicist.)

This is really random but its been bugging me as of late. Im sick of reading (fiction/fanfic) where people dont know how to write ace characters!! So heres some common misunderstandings that ive noticed.

Confusing ace people with aro people, ace people have no sexual attraction, aro people have no romantic attraction, they are very different.

Ace people can have active sex lives, we’re just not physically attracted.

We can also masturbate believe it or not it does happen.

Being sex repulsed and not interested in sex are different things, very different. Its like absolutely hating a food and being indifferent to it.

We do still think people are cute or whatever right from the get go.

Sometimes its hard to give affections to people we’re in relationships with, whereas friends and family affection is easier (not as high standards)

Kissing and cuddling can feel like too much sometimes.

We dont feel any less love for you if its not sexual, we are humanbeings.

There can be sometimes waves of sex repulsion, or it can get worse at times.

Sexual things can feel anticlimactic

You know what’s another way to interpret Hermione Granger - with frizzy brown hair, big teeth, not especially tall, dentist parents, a deep love and respect for books and learning, passionate social views, and belonging to a social class demeaned for having “dirty blood”, being liars and thieves with false power, discriminated against by both societal racism and government policies, serving as strawmen villains, and eventually outlawed, hunted down and murdered?
