-basically the same as above, but use slightly different words (e.g. @conceptadecency ’s word sotl instead of prUt, or all the different terms in Black Ink by xorabbit)
-basically the same as above, but give them hemipenes (two dicks side by side, still retractable). I’ve also seen a fic or two where they have no dicks
-Pon-Farr-inspired elements (going into heat in a fuck-or-die sort of way) and/or what I think must be omegaverse-inspired elements (e.g. knotting) (not all that common)
-Cardassians have a regular human set of cock and balls, but gray (rare these days, but used to be the standard in the first decade of garashir fic. will still inevitably jumpscare you in recent fics at amusing intervals lol)
-btw everyone say “thank you, Natima Lang <3” for making it not a headcanon but CANON that the Cardassian shoulder/neck ridges are an erogenous zone
-there’s plenty of other variations and customization options I’ve seen out there: phallus size, nipples or not, exact placement of the slit and whether it’s horizontal or vertical, properties of the cum (quantity, color, taste, etc.), properties and presence of self-lubricating fluid, who can get pregnant (it’s easy to justify mpreg scenarios), presence of a spermatheca (long-term sperm storage organ - a very rare headcanon but one that entertains me), oviposition (my beloved)…
For non-sexual (or at least not solely sexual) physiology things, some stuff I’ve seen (not all in the same fics, and not utilized in the same way between fics):
-additional scent-detecting organ on the roof of the mouth
-lizardy features that are not seen on the show (e.g., claws, tails)
-the spoons are a sensory organ of some kind (electricity, light/dark…)
-some people give cardassians bad hearing and think it’s canon, but that idea is really only based on something that the imaginary Garak in Julian’s Distant Voices coma said, so like, I really don’t think this idea NEEDS to be taken as canon lol, be free
-okay, there’s truly so many other physiology ideas I’ve seen, but I just ran out of energy and I’m blanking on everything, haha, so other people will need to pick up my slack and add more! and of course I’m also certain that I have NOT read/seen everything
