sometimes I get a vague feeling of sadness/melancholy and feel lonely and look to text my friends but all my recent messages are unread so I know they're busy

#and it's not their fault #people have lives #I don't blame them and don't wanna guilt the ones who inevitably see this #I just miss them and wanna talk to them

#meloncholy #I suppose #that I'm in this kind of limbo #where I'll be recognized #but I doubt I'll really be thought about when I'm out of sight #and that's not friendship #my dad made lifelong friends here #and I was so excited for that for me #and now I'm here #and I don't know how to make that kind of connection even though I try #because I'm quiet #and so I'm not really anyone's favorite #or friend even #I'm a colleague #or friendly acquaintance #last year I had a few friends #but we weren't super close and we immediately lost touch #I had another friend the year before but he turned out to be a creep so I cut him off basically #I wasn't really sad when I started thinking about this #I was kinda peaceful and accepting of the fact that my quietness can work against my ability to form connections in this setting #and that I'm actively working on my confidence and openness #and I think it's working #so this year might be my year #but the more I type the sadder I get because I genuinely was so excited for the promise of life long friendships #so I'm gonna end it here before I cry #edit: to clarify I started here 3 years ago #so the tags about me starting here excited to make lifelong friends are about me from 3 years ago #and then it transitions to how now I've realized I haven't done that #and why #in case that wasn't clear

or do I keep watching the mentalist cause I watched it during my time off and remembered how much I love jane
