It worked out well. Until the owner of the organization saw a bunch of teenage kids being comfortable around me, and decided they needed to remind me that I was "just a volunteer" and should have been coming to them for everything despite them clearly GIVING me that responsibility.

Like what did they expect? That I would fuck up? That I would do something inappropriate?

When they tried to take the group out of my hands, I quit. And then they just tore the group apart.

Like.... these are the people who are SUPPOSED to be looking out for lgbtqia+ kids, and they got mad at me for doing too good of a job.

It was like they were mad that I WASN'T being a damn groomer; and that these kids were becoming healthier, and learning to rely on each other, and figure out their own problems, so they had to tear it apart.

I wish I could do something but being a part of an existing community was really the best way to go and there are no other organizations like that. And if I were to start one myself, I'm sure the allegations would be flying before I ever had my first meeting.

I stood up in front of the whole fucking town and THANKED THEM for letting me feel safe to be myself

And the town repaid me by spending the next two years RIPPING APART EVERYTHING ABOUT THE TOWN THAT I SAID MADE ME FEEL OKAY TO BE ME

first of all, TVP was not about centering my feelings about transfems' abusers or what they went through. going on about how disgusted and enraged I felt underneath submissions would have actively detracted from the voices I was trying to center. TVP was not about my voice

second, abusers are not a subhuman class of people. they are often very ordinary people that exist in our lives. even my worst abuser did not abuse me because he was a subhuman monster or a demon. he abused me because he had systemic power over me, and that power went unchecked by any of the people or systems that could have protected me. he was thoroughly, mundanely human

When I hear "tumblr sexyman," I think of Cecil Night Vale being constantly depicted as a skinny white man instead of literally anything else. I think of the background character white men who get elevated over protagonists that are women, people of color, or otherwise not the white man power fantasy.

every fat person you know for the most part probably has a story like this, of medical neglect. many of the stories i've heard personally are when the complaint or the doctor wasn't related at all, like being told to lose weight at the ear nose and throat doctor or at the dentist. it's straight up just bias. it's such a thing that in the show Shrill it's portrayed, when Aidy Bryant goes to the gynecologist and her doctor suggests she get gastric bypass.

the studies on health and fatness are simply not that black and white and there is basically no research that shows that more than an incredibly tiny minority of people can lose weight and keep it off for more than like 2 years. bodies have set points that they gravitate towards, it's not a personal failure. this also is how the weight loss industry succeeds so well - repeat customers.

some of the harm associated with fatness is also due to weight cycling, which is very hard on your body and is even worse if you get off a GLP1, which according to a recent study causes weight to be regained at a rate that is 4x faster than without taking a GLP1.

you don't have to hate yourself. you don't have to hate other people for their body type either. it makes me so sad to see the thinspo tag going around again in 2026 a lot like it was back in the day.

part of autism is just being incredibly stressed. overstimulation? stress. holding a conversation? stress. something happening to our schedule? stress. people talk about how often autism is recognized and diagnosed via our stress responses (like meltdowns) because it is just so common to see autistic people stressed because of lack of accommodations to how our brains work.

like. loud noises physically hurt. it’s like a static shock from my ears to my spine that doesn’t stop until the volume goes back down. i thought we all agreed that ‘that’s too loud!’ and covering our ears meant ‘ouch!’. turns out i’ve been dealing with a stressor almost no one else has, my whole life, alone.

so im at target right now doing christmas shopping with my dad and?? there’s just this… 67 dollar phone? not even like 69.99 or something but 67?? nnone of the other phones are like this??
