This phrase has already entered my vocabulary re: media criticism where like. The viewer has a concrete view of what they expect a story to be based on the tropes and cliches they're used to seeing together, and when that doesn't happen, they judge it as a failed depiction of what they assumed it was going to be instead of judging it as what it actually is.

"This show is problematic because the hero didn't kill the villain at the end": When does he steal the bread?

"These two characters who were close friends throughout the series don't kiss at the end! What the fuck?": When does he steal the bread?

"This feels like it's missing a conclusion! Like, the protagonist does bad stuff and because of a critical decision he makes as a result of his major character flaws, meets tragedy in the end! Where's the part where he learns better and brings is love back from the dead and becomes a good guy and gets a happy ending?": When does he steal the fucking bread??

I think this is what I love about the videos with the food boys travelling to different places, and this is also what I loved about travel season.

It's just that willingness to share beautiful things with us, the way they experience it. I think the views from the car are the most picturesque they've been in a while, and the idea to turn the camera to what they see now so we can also see it really shows it (even if it's as fleeting as a rainbow while you're driving).

Yes the food is beautiful and you could almost taste it from the way they film it so beautifully. But I really loved the vibes of them just travelling and showing around what they experience, and even Steven putting aside the food to show us something they see. I just find it soo lovely.

You can also tell they had a good time there with the way they were laughing and joking in that episode. Them roasting Steven about writing a phamplet, but also that bit at the end about knowing which food they'd like. They really are good friends travelling for a living and the joy they experience seeing the new things is really something I love about them.

Really great ep I hope they can travel more to other places in the future. This was amazing, felt like I was there with them because it was so cinematic. I really really love them.
