i love how this is always showing up on my dash entirely free of the context that the ood’s response to this question is ‘the beast shall rise from the pit and make war against god’

A friendly PSA for everyone migrating from Wattpad to AO3!
Commenting Etiquette
No Unsolicited Concrit: Authors post fanworks for free as a hobby. Unless an author explicitly asks for constructive criticism in their notes, keep comments positive and critique-free.
Don't Like, Don't Read (DLDR): If a story, relationship, or trope bothers you, hit the back button. Leaving negative comments over subjective preferences breaks core fandom norms.
Phrase Update Requests Politely: Demanding "Update soon!" can feel transactional. Pair your excitement with appreciation for the current chapter (e.g., "Loved this chapter, can't wait to see where the story goes!").
Short Comments & Emojis Are Welcomed: You don't need to write an essay! Leaving a kudos or a single heart emoji in the comment section is a totally valid and appreciated form of comment.
Tagging & Relationships
Accurate Warning Tags: Always select the appropriate Major Archive Warnings or explicitly mark "Author Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings."
Distinguish / vs &: Use / strictly for romantic or sexual pairings (Character A/Character B). Use & exclusively for platonic or familial relationships (Character A & Character B).
Site Rules & Features
No Monetization: AO3 is a non-profit archive run entirely on donations. Selling physical copies anywhere on your profile or story text violates TOS and risks account suspension.
Public vs. Private Bookmarks: Bookmarks are public by default, and authors can see everything written in them. If you use bookmarks for personal ratings, critical notes, or reading progress, remember to check the Private box.

You actually cannot skip to being good at a creative endeavour that you haven't put much practice into. You cannot trick your way out of the 'knows that your work is not what you want it to be but don't know how to improve it' stage by planning or reading or talking about it really really hard. At some point you just have to craft through it until your brain finds it's own unique way back to the 'everything I make slaps' stage and be prepared to start the cycle all over again. You just have to make that project you're excited about slightly less good than you want it to be. (Says this standing in a pool of blood and covered in blood and also coughing up a little blood)
A/N: Oh I haven't written for Zena in so long! Thank you for this.
Zena had gotten used to Din staring at her. She had not, however, gotten used to catching his eye when he did it.
She wasn't certain he was aware of what he was doing. He'd spent most of his life behind the helmet; watching where his eyes wandered wasn't an instinct he'd developed. The same went for his expressions. For a man who had perfect control over his voice, the same could not be said of his face.
It was a knowledge she held close to her heart, a secret shared only between her and the child. Of course, that didn't mean she couldn't tease him, just a little.
"See something you like?" she asked.
Din didn’t answer right away. He never did. She watched him cycle through a number of emotions and thoughts. A flicker of embarrassment here, a defensive retort there; each one held up to the light as if to find the proper match.
“I…,” he started, his eyes shifting before settling on something clear and honest. “Yes.”
Zena stopped, her mouth parting on instinct. This was when she was meant to deflect, roll her eyes, make a joke, find a way to lessen the intensity of emotion that filled her body with just one word. Instead, she remained silent, allowing them to wash over her. It was a new sensation, one that left her heart pounding, both elated and uncertain. She did not think it right to feel so much over so small a thing.
She never voiced such questions aloud, but Din had a way of understanding her silence as clearly as she understood his own.
With purposeful care, he moved toward her until they stood nearly chest to chest. He had taken off his gloves some time ago, leaving his hands bare and vulnerable at his sides. His dark eyes did not stray, his expression holding both adoration and a question.
She answered by taking his hand in hers.
He swallowed at the contact, even as his shoulders relaxed and eyes lightened.
An unconscious smile pulled at her mouth. He felt it too, and neither of them were running away.
He then did something he’d never done before. He raised their entwined hands to his lips, pressing a gentle kiss into her skin.
She must have been a sight as he let out a small laugh at her expression.
The sound knocked her out of her stupor, caught between needing to glare to protect her dignity and laugh at herself as well.
just watched a star trek episode about a planet that relied so heavily on it's computer system that they all forgot the basics of their own knowledge. and that allowed them to miss the fact that they were being posioned with radiation and nearly ending their civilization. because they couldn't use their own knowledge to figure things out. i bring this up for no reason in particular
