#ok im gonna write one million tags get ready #but I really do love the dave&terezi/vriska&John dichotomy #its so tasty #because like. Terezi who was supposed to be a team leader #decides to act as a guide to the person who was most reluctant to play his session #whereas Vriska who was the absolute last chosen for her session #compensates by taking responsibility for the leader of another session #and while it is SO clear that this is mostly a proxy war the scourge sisters are waging against each other #like karkat clocks that fact instantly #they go about it in SUCH different ways!!!#like each of these girls are using their respective human as a tool obviously #but to completely different ends and they dont even seem to realize they have completely different goals #because vriska is pretty transparently living vicariously through john right #shes dressing him in her clothes and encouraging him to take the same goal oriented reckless path she would take #as if shes trying to play the game a second time by proxy #whereas Terezi doesnt seem to care about Dave's session at all!!!#she's not so much helping him progress as she is giving him just enough help that he'll keep listening to her #so she can use him to further her own goals!#like it's pretty clearly implied she gives him instructions to level up like crazy #but one of the very fwe interactions we see between her and dave during his session #is manipulating the stock market so she can ensure the trolls find out about the humans in the first place #because she's decided it's necessary #so it's this weird situation where Vriska is interacting with her human to like #deposit more heroic glory into her heroic glory account #because she feels so fucking unwanted she needs to find as much purpose as she can #whereas Terezi knows shes valued intrinsically so when she chooses a human #it's almost entirely because she sees it as a necessary indulgence #and this discrepancy in motivation in no way negates the fact Terezi and Vriska are doing this with the full and complete knowledge #that they are doing this not in service of the humans; campaign but in competition with each other #both fully under the impression their gols and outlooks are the same
