It ainât much, but itâs honest work
No matter what a post on tumblr tries to tell you, your moral and ethical stances will never be determined by what you reblog and what you scroll past. Donât let manipulation tactics force you into doing anything you donât want to do.
I find it very interesting to note the times in which this post has a sudden resurgence. It often follows very stressful, upsetting events, where a lot of âREBLOG THIS OR YOU SUCKâ posts start appearing on this site.Â
So Iâll say it again: it is okay if you come to tumblr to escape upsetting news. It is okay if youâre just here for fun and fandom. It is okay if you do not want to use your tumblr as a place to read about or spread the current events that are circulating. It is okay if you need a place to decompress and just relax. There are other ways to be involved in/support causes and you are allowed to set boundaries on social media platforms without it being indicative of your belief systems.Â
Your beliefs, values, ethics, and moral stances are not determined by whether or not you reblog something.Â
âYouâre Not a Good Writer.â
I once received a DM comprised of just that sentence. Nothing else. No constructive criticism or any reason as to why this person clearly agreed with my own view of myself.
For someone who has never told anyone in their real life that they write anything, reading something like this from an anonymous user only solidified in my mind the fact that this person was right.
Iâm not a good writer.
After an embarrassing amount of minutes passed, in which I thought about deleting every story I ever posted, I decided to delete the message instead. Unfortunately, that didnât mean I could delete the feelings it caused or change the fact that Iâm not a good writer.
Two weeks went by and I didnât write anything, let alone post. Then I received a comment on a story I had posted three years prior, one Iâd written after a death in our family. The comment read, âThank you for sharing this heartfelt story. I really needed this. I just lost my mom and this really got me today.â
I stopped thinking about being a good writer after that. I thought instead, âwhat if I had deleted my stories and that one person three years later hadnât read it that day?â
Hereâs what I realized: no one is a good writer.
Good means to be approved of, but stories arenât created from approval. Theyâre built from life experiences, feelings, and emotions Therefore, the impact of anyoneâs story isnât good or bad. Itâs a million other things.
Heartfelt.
Sad.
Funny.
Inspiring.
Romantic.
So to all the story writers out there, hold your head up, write what is in your heart, and never doubt that there isnât at least one person out there that needs to read your story.
So, no.
Weâre not good writers, but why would we want to be?
Holy shit did I need to read this today
Never doubt that there isnât at least one person out there that needs to read your story.
And if that person is just yourself, thatâs okay too. I mean it, literally the only reason I started writing is that no one was writing what I wanted to read, and let me tell you, my writing may be a mess, but itâs a lot of fun for me to read. :)

Tips That Can Save Your Kidâs Life.
THIS IS IMPORTANTÂ
When I was a child, from the time I was about four and could understand things, my mom told me and my brother that we should have a secret word. That way, if we were ever in trouble or felt unsafe and we didnât want the people around us to know we needed her to come get us, we could let her know. So she let us pick the word and my brother and I chose the phrase âpeanut butter cups.â (Iâm happy to share the phrase now since both my brother and I are adults now).Â
I used the phrase twice in my life. Once, I was at a friends house when I eight years old. Her dad got really drunk and was throwing things against the wall. I was really scared and I didnât want to draw attention to myself on the phone when I called my mom to come get me because I didnât know if he would get more violent if I asked her to come get me. So I called her and was calm and after a couple minutes I asked âHey mommy, did you get me those peanut butter cups from the store?â And she said âIâll be right there.â And she came and got me within minutes.Â
Second, I was a teenager spending the night at a friends house. Her brother and dad were drinking and they started talking about things that made me uncomfortable - ie: what they liked to do to women. My friend didnât seem perturbed and said that was normal for them and that I shouldnât worry. But I was worried because they were really drunk and I was 15 and the only âwomanâ around that wasnât related to them. I went in my friends room, told her I needed to call my mom and say goodnight. Before I hung up with her I asked âNext time we go to the store, can we get some peanut butters cups? Iâve been craving them.â And she came and got me, just like that.Â
Two incidents, one as a young child, one years later as a teen. Donât discredit this stuff, it fucking works. My brother used it a few times too. Let your child pick the word and no never, ever, ever, ever get mad at them for using it no matter what it is.Â
DO NOT SCROLL PAST THAT.
Off topic, but very important! I was taught to yell âthis is not my mom/dad.â A young kid freaking out in public is likely to be ignored out of embarrassment, but a kid telling you right out that they donât know who is messing with them? That will turn heads.
SIGNAL BOOST
90% of all child molesters are members of the family, close family friends, or an adult in a trusted position of authority. All of this is important but one more thing:
Never instil an unwavering ârespect for their eldersâ in your child, and never chastise them for âtattlingâ on or feeling uncomfortable around an older relative/family friend/teacher .etc.
never pass the chance to reblog
because i love you boy đ
if his isn't zelda and link... uwu
Kestrel-dad not sure how to dad but heâs trying his best.
Dad loves you and feeds you. But he is also dumb and feeds you a wonderfully done wagyu steak. You are 3 days old.
I can't yell you how wonderfully perfect this is! To be far, parents in general do and don't have any idea what they are doing, so give 'em a little break - they are usually trying to do their best, but probably in the wrong way.
newfoundlander twi.
haha ok funny story time! I did not look into this as much as I should have, and freaked out (I get too excited), and then the response was the beeeesst because it was of pirates and french and I was sooo confused because this is what I immediately pictured:

I decided to try doing a mock retro anime screenshot. I used Osamu Dezakiâs artstyle because itâs my favorite and I thought Link would look good in it! Iâll probably make a couple more.
