This was supposed to be a fanfic but I don't feel like writing it anymore. So I have turned my notes into a shit post/prompt.
Use this if you want! I would still love to read it!
I got this idea after watching the video āWe Got Hunted by Ex-Militaryā¦ā from the YT Channel āThe Boyzā.
The Link's play hide and seek where Wild and Warriors use their tracking and scouting skills respectfully. Instinct and knight training.
All tricks are allowed but when they have a spot they have to stay in it and are not allowed to move until they are found or the time runs out.
āTwilight - he turns into Wolfie and uses his furr to hide in a brush that has similar colours to his own.
āHyrule - turns into a Fairy and goes to hide with the Fairies in the Fairy Fountain. Cotera is there too and so he hides in her hair.
āFour - he first runs out with the others but see's a Minish Portal as he is running. So he makes the decision to make a big turn around and use it, to hide in a abandoned Squirrel hole. Which are all the way through the tree and the Minish made stairs to have a little home in there. Four is having tea with the Minish.
āLegend - he uses his bracelet to turn into a painting and hide behind something otherwise not possible. He believes to be really smart for that one.
āTime - he is a little shit and is using the stone mask. He still looked for a far off space to stay still in and just sat down with the mask on. Ready for the long wait. He just makes it that he wins.
āWind - climbs a tree with a lot of foliage. When they get close he meows like a cat.
āSky - finds a cave tunnel that goes through a hill and hides behind a big rock that is hidden in shadows. Making himself comfortable and starts to nod off because of how dark it was. Because of that he is quiet and Warriors and Wild moves passed him more than once. When it gets close to the time limit the shadows change and Sky is now viewable from one end of the tunnel.
Wind gets found first, he is better at finding things he will have you know. But Warriors knows him too well and finds him.
Twilight is next. Wild finds him in almost no time at all. They had played hide and seek a lot in their time together, so Wild knows the song and dance well. Twilight would have done better if he would have been allowed to move around. (Wild would have tracked him down no matter what but it is more fun for the two this way.)
Hyrule is the third. Wild is not a fairy whisperer like Time but the fairies in Kakariko village know him well, so they giggle and Wild knows that they know something. So he goes to the fairy fountain at which point Cotera shushes them and points at her hair. Where Hyrule is sleeping in his fairy form.
Legend is in fourth place. The found heroes can help a bit, so Warriors ask about the stories about the Hero of Legend. The story about the painting bracelet tips both Wild and Warriors off at the same time. After that, Legend is found in seconds. Wild knows this village front and back, he knows all the flat hidden spots. (Legend questions why they haven't it in Wild's World and not one that Warriors or Wild would not have a home turn advantage.)
Four thought he had it in the bag but Twilight was feeling petty so he used wolfie to sniff the smith out. Pointing in the cardinal direction and together with Warriors knowledge of all the heroesā journey and Wild and his keen senses he is found.
Sky gets woken up by the feeling of someone staring at him and as he opens his eyes, Wild is crouched in front of him, making the chosen one jump.
All sitting around the cooking pot parallel to the inn, Warriors is fruitlessly trying to remember all the masks Time had shown off turning the War but comes up short. Only for the time to run out and Wild gives out a loud whistle. Signaling to Time that he can come out. Only for Time to take off the Stone Mask and walk away from the wall he was sitting against. All of the heroes snap their heads in his direction because they can feel a presence come out of nowhere. And stare at his shit eating grin after a second or more Warriors yells out: āStone Mask! The fucking Stone Mask! Of fucking course it was thst one he would use uugghhh!ā and sits down leaning against the railing.
If you have better ideas (considering I haven't played all the games yet and won't know the best way they would hide.) I feel like the hiding spot for Wind could be better...

There's no particular meaning to it, I just wanted Wild and Sky to have mischievous looks on their faces.
I like Chivalry trio so much
at a conference I attended recently, a researcher pointed to the difficulty of finding material in archives because so much depends on the metadata and the terminology used to describe things changes over time. "it would be so helpful," the researcher said, "if I typed 'lesbian' into the library of congress database, it would also show me results that were categorised in the 50s, when the materials were interpreted as 'intimate female friendships'"
which is what tag wrangles at Archive Of Our Own do incredibly effectively: searching for "omegaverse" also leads to "alpha/beta/omega dynamics" and "alternate universe: a/b/o" and so on. but ao3 achieves this frankly incredible categorisation and indexing system by the power of countless volunteers putting in hours and hours of unpaid and unthanked free time, and it's completely understandable that most archives do not have that kind of infrastructure, but also how incredible that a fan-run website has better searchability, classification, and accessibility than the library of congress
Can minish loaf?
oh my god, could you imagine if a minish sat down by like,,,, just folding their legs underneath them so their legs are also hidden by the leaf poncho and then,,,, they are just a little minish loaf!!!!
Wanted to add to the loaf momentā¢ļø

This is one of the most adorable Pride posts Iāve ever seen
What I love about the imagery of the turtle is that itās sending the message that they are protecting themselves by being in their shell. Itās not about deceiving straight people (like we are often told), but about the turtleās own safety. Theyāll come out when the time is right and they feel comfortable. šš³ļøāš

Trying to Understand Why LU Warriors Is the Fandomās Least Favorite Link
A Passerby Readerās Observation on Linked Universe: Trying to Understand Why LU Warriors Is the Fandomās Least Favorite Link
I like him. And it baffles me that in several polls, he ranked as the least liked Link? Genuinely, I thought he would rank higher - definitely not last. Iām not upset or disappointed, just so befuddled that I dug up my old Tumblr from its grave and wrote this observation note instead of working. I need to comprehend this curious phenomenon.
I fell into the Linked Universe rabbit hole in 2024, originally looking for LoZ fics that focus on friendship. I was very happy with what I found in the fandom. But then I was alarmed that I couldnāt find LU fans on the platforms I usually haunt. My options were Tumblr and Discord, which basically feel like entering an agora and trying to follow peopleās conversations mid-dialogue. (I miss the golden era of webboards so badly.) Nevertheless, I joined those platforms and binge-read a lot of content.
This is my observation, based on my 21-ish years of being in fandoms. No philosophical articulation, no theories or statistics to support the claim. Just hunches and non-educated guesses.
Warriors is the most bishÅnen Link. Thatās why my first thought, upon being introduced to him through fanfics and Lu comics, was that he must be well-liked. Iāve seen some fans analyze that his unpopularity might stem from his fanon characterization: vain, a womanizer, mean, or a comedic relief side character who only rarely gets a moment to shine.
To me, the closest trope for fanon Warriors is the āmagnificent bastardā archetype - someone who seems shallow on the surface but occasionally reveals a sharp mind or surprising badassery. They have layers, but hide behind a pretty face or vain personality. The satisfaction of liking these characters often comes from the delayed gratification of watching them subvert expectations.
I honestly thought that kind of fanon characterization would make him more popular. Seriously.
What a culture shock.
Of course, those archetypes tend to be polarizing. But I assumed he would also be well-loved as well-hated, like other bishÅnen forefathers before him like Oikawa, Sanji, or Reigen ,etc.
I suspect age, and perhaps the geopolitical makeup of the fandom, might play a role here? Iām not sure how many Thai fans are in this fandom, but I think if they found LU Warriors, theyād love the life out of him, fanon or canon.
Comic-canon Warriors is neither a womanizer, mean, nor vain. But based on those polls, the fandom at large still seems warming up to his character.
It made me scratch my head with my feet.
Maybe this has nothing to do with fanon or canon characterization? Maybe Warriors simply embodies certain traits or virtues that donāt resonate with most of the fandom, especially compared to the other Links. I suspect this has something to do with a young adult audience's aversion to (perceived) authority figures.
Letās talk about LU Legend. His popularity makes sense to me. Heās passionately loved and hated. I think a character like Legend resonates with younger audiences, people who feel oppressed by the system, because heās often portrayed as young but already jaded, snarky, and burdened with trauma. Hurt but defiant; competent and kind but still not give in or become part of the (problematic) system which might make his fans feel both vindicated and empowered. Legend isnāt seen as an authority figure, despite being overqualified for the role (and is seen stepping up in the comic). I think that makes fans feel safer liking him.
Wild, Wind, and Four also donāt come across as authority figures. Wild is especially popular, fitting the hurt-young-protagonist trope/ headcanons well. Unlike Legend, heās not portrayed as tsundere, so he generates less contradiction and feels more vulnerable (also botw/totk are very popular games).
LU Time and LU Twilight (and even fanon LU Sky, the āmother cuccoā) look and act like adults but get different treatment than Warriors. Time fits the role of the wise, jaded, disillusioned old man. Fans agree heās been through a lot. His choice to live a quiet farming life makes him seem like someone who wouldnāt impose order on the younger cast. Fans see him as a source of wisdom the young protagonist can turn to. Meanwhile, Twilight and Sky are often cast as supportive adult allies. They donāt represent authority in a threatening way (maybe a little overbearing.)
LU Warriors, though, does represent authority the most. Thatās likely why there are so many headcanons portraying him as authoritative, distrustful, and bossy, making him a convenient antagonist. He looks like an adult. He acts like an adult. Whether or not heās a victim of the system (knighthood), he chose to stay. And thatās why I think some of his fans empathize with him, myself included.
I believe his character might resonate more with those who have to manage people, give orders, and make decisions their younger selves would have hated them for. Because maturity comes at the price of doing inescapable duties and being disliked. The nuances of life *sigh*
In conclusion, Warriors seems to be an acquired taste. And I can confidently declare Iāve acquired him since the moment I laid eyes on the strings of fanon words that turned him into a vain, pretty boy.
