I think Ryland Grace would get a turkey sub from subway on Italian bread
And I think his sauces of choice would just be mayo and sub sauce. And heād get all the toppings except green peppers and banana peppers
Oh and he wouldnāt get guacamole (reluctantly) because subway charges 2$ extra in some locations.
This is not my personal order, because I get guacamole and mourn the 2$ I lost. I also get banana peppers and then complain that they arenāt spicy. As well as jalapeno peppers and complain about those too. And I get sub sauce, chipotle sauce, and garlic aoli. And I choose Italian herbs and cheese for my bread.
I also think he would talk my approach most days of āI donāt want the responsibility of eating lunch today, so Iāll just have a big breakfast so Iām not hungry again till dinnerā

He's alive. He's really alive. I never let myself believe for a moment he could ever not return to me but to finally know for sure makes me elated. My love is finally home. I don't care about any protocol. I have to see him.
I ignore the staff and find the sound proof exam room he's being held in. I throw open the door to finally see him for the first time in almost six decades. Exhilaration transitions into dread as I realize that's him, trembling in the corner.
"Rocky!" I rush by his side. "My love! What's wrong?"
He murmurs something incomprehensible.
"What..? I can't hear you."
"They gone... They all gone..."
"I... Heard. The others... None of them survived?" I knew many of them. I know many of their mates... Families. I am hit with a twinge of guilt.
"I supposed to fix... I not fix..."
Every one of my hearts ache. "Don't tell me you blame yourself. Darling... It is not your fault."
The unsteady murmuring continues.
"Do you hear me..?" I touch his carapace.
Then, he's silent for a moment. "Adrian..?"
"Yes?"
"Adrian... Adrian..." He taps the floor with his foot. "Adrian!" He nearly chips himself slamming his carapace into mine. "I... I miss you! I love you!"
"I love you too," I say.
"Adrian! I need help..."
"What? What? What's wrong?"
"They have him! They not tell what they do with him! Bad! Bad! Bad, bad, bad!"
"Who? I thought you were the only survivor!"
"I... Am..."
"Then... Who are you talking about?"
"My... My friend! They experiment on him... Or... Or... I not know! But have to help him!" Rocky pleaded.
"I don't understand. Who's your friend?"
Rocky tapped his fingers. "After forty six years in tau ceti system... Another ship..."
"Another space ship? How is that possible? There are only two ships still in tact, and one never left orbit."
"Not eridian ship."
"...Are you saying you found an alien ship? Is this friend of yours an alien!?"
"Yes!"
"Where is it?!"
Rocky trails behind me as we survey the convoluted halls of the facility. Through several walls is something that is not like anything I have ever seen before. "Is that thing him?" I ask.
Rocky's voice was shrill. "Yes!" He runs toward the room that the alien is being kept in.
I walk quickly to keep up. There is an airlock door on a tunnel leading to a sectioned off part of the room. The alien is on the floor, holding something familiar. A small puzzle box meant for children. I had one as a kid. He holds one end with two hands, and has the other in... Presumably, that's his mouth? Is he trying to eat it? "Rocky, my beloved, are you certain your friend is sapient?"
Grace finds out a few of his Pebble students want to see his house up close, so they each get their own little xenonite morph suit, and Grace gathers them into his pockets and carries them across the beach like heās an alien school bus driver.
I finally watched project Hail Mary and gods, it really touched me deeply.
It was such a breath of fresh air to have a movie where there's a character that is so real.
A movie with no romance. (Fucking beautiful)
A movie where the hero isn't a hero he's literally just a guy who is alone, doesn't feel brave at all, feels dumb so many times, and feels like a failure. A character who is seen as less and expendable because of how they live. Just like that.
I just feel him so much and it was such a beautiful movie
