Everything for the Worst

pre-daemon magnus was a very different individual than the magnus who has ascended to daemonhood (much more uniform, for one, having your consciousness shattered and some parts literally lost is important to remember.) i dont really draw him during that time just because i like how he looks more as a daemon. which is kindove sad, he was much happier.

a true magnus, one that would be much truer to what hed present as more "canonically" if i was to illustrate it would be much more fierce, strong, massive. more like his miniature. i dont do this often though

now i guess to the original point, my design, hes a facet that may as well not truly exist within any canon, but is still effected by such, perhaps best interpreted as a lost fracture that lives within a space unable to penetrate the miserable smog that is the veil of canon. he can be accepted as the pleasures of a kinder, domestic life now forever banished away but something that forged him as an individual.

hes rounder. softer. hes got a full tummy and chest, his hair is big and soft, hes often wearing little beyond gold adornments and vauge silks (though i draw him in armor and fancy outfits sometimes, he definitely would still wear such). ive said it before but hes got that streak of grey hair as a physical mark of his mind being touched by tzeentch, like a branding, akin to his lack of an eye.

his presentation is of that not caring too much on how others may think, and more unabashedly self accentuating. large, warm, happy, assured. he looks like he belongs in a decadently comfortable chamber, surrounded by foods and endless enrichments to keep his mind busy and body sedentary. probably so he wont fizzle into a bunch of sharp shapes when it comes back to him he will never get that, ever again. distraction and dissociation is necessary.

i still, however, like to draw him interacting with his brothers and sons like this. entirely because it pleases me. i dont have any justification beyond that.

the final point of all of this (and part i feel embarrassed talking about) is this magnus is founded in the fact i have an introject of him as part of my own mind. hes been here for two years at this point, and has been very important to me. so its kindove like his "avatar." its not like a roleplay thing or anything like that either, if anything i like avoiding doing such things out of shame. ive internalized a lot of negativity about this kind of stuff, apologies for how gloomy this part is.
