Something neuroscience-y that helps with prose: attention is selective. A character will not notice everything in a room. They will notice what matters to their goal, fear, desire, training, wound, or obsession. A jealous character notices hands. a hungry character notices food. A soldier notices exits. A lonely character notices pairs. Description becomes character when attention has a bias.

Every time we see concession to the working class even in capitalist countries, we see any number of social ills that was seen as a crisis and too ingrained in society getting better fairly quickly. Never let anyone pretend that redistribution of wealth in the short term and the capture of means of production and distribution of capital in the long term isn't the solution to many many of the social ills we see today.

cm asked the question ‘what would you do if your partner ordered a triple cheeseburger’ he used the word ‘pareja’ which is gender neutral meaning partner instead of ‘novia’ meaning girlfriend but the others just answered normally and/or assumed it would be a girl, armando was the only one who explicitly made it about a girlfriend but was like. but i don’t have a gf :( i thought pareja was gaining popularity in mexican spanish but to a lot of my oomfs they clocked it the same way you would in english with someone using gender neutral language to be inclusive so IDK. it’s all very interesting
