Recently got caught up with the latest update and I really appreciated the consistency of MC feeling nervous in the car during the interview route if you chose to walk back to town in the previous chapter. I've found it easy to get invested in the roleplay aspect of this game and I think this kind of consistency between the choices and the prose/MC's internal monologue plays a big part of that! (I hope that makes sense, I'm a bit tired as I'm writing this lol)

I really enjoyed the latest chapter and I'm very excited for the next update!

I love writing flavor text and adding little narrative differences whenever I can tbh. There are a few variables I always try to keep in mind (the driving thing being one of them; skeptic/believer being another. whether or not MC is squeamish, different job text, the skills, etc...). Whenever I get the chance to add them in I try to since I love giving the player the chance to build up a character as they play!!

Even if fun little choices like this and my own desire to keep things consistent mean I have to have a variable that remembers whether or not MC said they were abducted by aliens in one small sub-branch most folks won't see lmao.

watching h2o with bf and i've thought about this before but it really strikes me how beautifully season one is structured. we meet our big bad dr. denman on episode eight, about one-third into our 26-episode season. arguably the biggest inciting event of the season takes place in 1x13 'shipwrecked' at exactly the halfway mark. then the plot really starts kicking into gear around episode 18 in the last third of the season. we joke but it really is a sophisticated show strictly from a narrative perspective, the virgo in me loves to see it. anyway bring back 20+ episode series in 2026, the children yearn for filler, character development, and space for the story to breathe (it's me. i'm the children)

you know those studies showing that cursing helps with pain tolerance or whatever. that’s how i feel about making my weird little noises to get through my basic daily activities. sometimes you just have to go hggblaaaah for a minute so you can find the strength within yourself to get up or wash the dishes or send an email. mmmnneh. urgh. the torments are unending but you can always make some little sounds about it.

Side note: polonium-210 is a very dangerous isotope, however it "does not pose a radiation hazard when kept outside the body", as the alpha particle it emits have very little penetration power and cannot pierce even the outer layers of dead skin. It has still killed countless people, though, not because of children's rings, but because of tobacco. Polonium latches onto and concentrates in tobacco leaves, leading to heavy smokers being exposed to more radiation than survivors of the Chernobyl disaster.

It's always wild to me seeing comments about different toxins like this on information about random things in the past, but it's never discussed when it comes to cigarettes.
