Poison is one of the best ways of dispatching a character, political enemy, unwanted spouse or annoying neighbours. Here are some of the top interesting poisons and if you don’t choose any, I’ll be adding a post on how to create your own poison. Please don’t kill anybody in real life (there I think that covers the legal side). Let’s kill some characters.

Nightshade

Or as it is more commonly referred to as Belladonna is a poisonous flowering plant. All of this plant is poison but the berries are infamously toxic. It is called Belladonna (pretty woman) as it was a cosmetic. It is poison yet it is used today in modern cosmetic surgery.

Hemlock

Hemlock is a flowering plant. All parts of the plant contain poison. It causes paralysis, mostly in the respiratory system.

Cyanide

Cyanide is a poisonous chemical. It kills by latching onto iron in the blood and constricting them, not allowing them to to transfer oxygen.

Batrachotoxin

This is a neurotoxin that lives on the sking of dart frogs. One frog has enough toxin kill around two dozen people. The poison attacks the nerves, causing paralysis.

Azaleas

Common flowers that are poisonous. It’s symptoms are nausea, drooling, vomiting, diarrhea, seizures, coma, and death. It takes six hours to work.

Arsenic

This poison causes gastric distress, burning pain, vomiting, and bloody diarrhea. Arsenic is almost virtually indectable only found when a high dose is used or if there is an almond smell off the corpse.

I am trying to describe Broken-World universe in this and it’s coming handy!

It had been a long day, that seemed to drag on forever with no end in sight. You weren’t interested in socializing, you had snapped at Ferg earlier and hadn’t heard from him since, and generally you were completely spent. Done.

So when you got home all you knew was that there was a tub of Ben & Jerry’s with your name on it. Except hanging on the fridge was a note.

“Which birds steal soap from the bath? Robber ducks!”

You roll your eyes, but couldn’t help but smile. It was literally the stupidest joke you’ve ever heard from him, but it was also very telling.

You head down the hall and peek around the open door to the master bath, finding Ferg quietly soaking. You leaned against the sink until he opened his eyes and smiled up at you.

“It was a shite joke, I know,” he tells you as he shifts to make room.

“It did it’s job,” you promise as you strip out of your clothes and step into the tub with him, leaning back against his chest. You sigh contently as you let your eyes close. His fingers play against your thighs and your stomach.

“I’m sorry that I wasn’t there for you today,” he tells you, lips pressing against your neck.

“It wasn’t your fault. Work was awful. I wish I could take back what I said.”

His arms wrapped around you, and he tugged at your earlobe. “Well I’m still here, aren’t I?”

You smile up at him. “Yeah. You are.”
