I recall being disappointed that the Hilda/Malthus Bondage dub-con sex scene was only in Malthus's imagination but thinking back I think itâs important that Hilda and Malthusâ first sex scene happens the way it does as one of the main themes of that relationship of humanity and what it means to be human. Through the show Malthusâs image of Hilda as something between an angel and demon is deconstructed for him to see her as a human like him, flawed and whole, and as Hilda slowly discards her clothes thatâs what she lets Malthus see. At the same time, Hilda does brings Malthus lower like he says, but not to hell or sin, to the humanity his status as a saint has denied him of, and the disconnect from his own humanity means disconnect from humanity at whole; it is through Hildaâs touch that he is first feels his human flesh, and once he sees her, he isnât passive like in his imagination but grasping at her, grasping for that burning sensation her touch gave him before
