Could you maybe write something about a villain with hypnotic powers who lives with their lover (hero or civilian I don't care 🤷🏻♀️) but they lover has no idea they're the villain. And one day they discover the truth (see them in suit but without the mask, find a secret passage in their home....whatever) and the villain quickly tries to use their powers on them to make them forget ?
No pressure of course, and thanks for your time 🐔🐔
Hi Anons! I am going to combine your requests, since they all have to do with hero x villain hypnosis! I hope you enjoy!
Villain heard the crash just as they had pulled their mask off. They froze, not daring to turn their head and reveal their bare face.
“What are you doing in my house?” Civilian’s voice demanded.
They seemed a lot braver than Villain had assumed they would be in a scenario like this.
“I’m not going to hurt you,” Villain said slowly, “just turn around and go back the way you came.”
“Yeah, I don’t think so. You picked the wrong place to rob.”
Villain didn’t have time to slip their mask back on before an ice beam hit them in the back, knocking them to the ground.
Civilian, no, Hero, was on top of them in an instant.
“Where do you get the nerve to break in? I have a private life you know!”
Civilian was Hero. Hero was Civilian. This day just got better and better, didn’t it? Villain screwed their eyes shut as their lover turned them over. They just knew Hero was holding in a gasp.
Villain dared to open their eyes. Their heart split open. Hero was slowly climbing off of them and backing away. That tough façade was gone, it had vanished without a trace. Their lover was afraid of them.
“Civilian, I can explain,” Villain repeated.
They tried to stand up in the most non-threatening manner they could manage. Hero’s eyes were wide as saucers, and they had formed a long icicle in one hand and ice shards in the other.
“Stay away from me,” Hero said quietly.
“Hero, please,” Villain tried, “it’s not what it looks like. I promise.”
“It looks like my lover of five years is my enemy,” Hero said.
Villain shook off the sting of Hero’s words.
“I didn’t know you were Hero,” they said, “please just put the ice down, we can talk about this.”
They took a step forward. Bad idea. Hero flung the ice shards at them and bolted down the hallway, jumping over the shattered mug of tea they had dropped at the start of all this. Villain glanced down at it. That mug had been an anniversary present. Villain cursed, and rushed after their beloved.
They grabbed Hero and whirled them around, pulling them in close. They held them still with an arm locked around their waist.
“Look at me,” Villain ordered.
“Let me go, you sick snake!” Hero shouted.
Tears brimmed in Hero’s eyes as Villain tried to meet them. They struggled fiercely in their grip, but unlike Villain, Hero didn’t have enhanced strength.
“Look at me!” Villain snapped.
Hero shrank in on themselves as much as Villain’s grip would allow. The guilt bubbled up in Villain’s gut; Hero met their eyes.
Villain let their eyes begin to shimmer and swirl, unblinking. The patterns reflected in Hero’s pupils, and they could feel Hero growing still and pliant in their hold.
“Shhh,” Villain soothed, “settle down, Hero. None of this happened. The past hour is going to vanish from your mind, never to return. I am not Villain. I am your lover, you are my world. I would never hurt you.”
Technically, Villain’s hypnotic power and their snake-like abilities were from two separate sources, but most people just assumed they were of one power. People really didn’t know much about snakes. Like how snakes couldn’t actually hypnotize anything, or how they didn’t have eyelids, or how they weren’t all vicious monsters determined to seduce, deceive, and hurt the creatures around them. It seemed like Hero had fallen for the last stereotype, though. It broke Villain’s heart to see them so afraid. They wished they could hypnotize themselves to forget as well.
Hero had significantly calmed down as Villain rubbed their back and hummed against them.
“Go to sleep,” Villain said, “my words will solidify when you wake.”
They caught Hero as they went limp in their hold. The expression on their face was peaceful, with no hint of fear or hurt visible anywhere. The gentle rise and fall of their chest helped Villain settle down as well.
They carried Hero back down the hall to their shared bedroom. Villain lay them on the bed and returned to their office to remove their suit. They pressed a panel on the wall and hid their secret in the compartment that opened from the detection of their biometrics.
Villain closed the panel and left their office. They opened their mouth, their tongue morphing into a forked shape just long enough to taste the air. Cinnamon and vanilla, that would be Hero asleep in the next room over; lemon, the soap bar in the bathroom; citrus and spice… the tea on the floor.
Villain went over to clean up the mess when they heard footsteps behind them.
“Other Civilian?” Hero yawned, “what happened?”
Villain looked down at the mug fragments in their hands, then back at Hero.
“I was bringing you a drink,” Villain lied, “I guess it got away from me.”
Hero chuckled sleepily. It was adorable. They came over, eyeing the carpet.
“I’m sure we can get it out with something,” Villain said, “I can go buy some carpet cleaner and-”
Hero cupped the side of Villain’s face and kissed them. They took the hallway rug and dragged it over the stain.
“There, now it’s our little secret,” Hero said with a smile.
Hero passed them and led the way to the kitchen. Villain followed.
“But definitely pick up some carpet cleaner!” Hero called over their shoulder.
“You got it,” Villain smiled.
They held the mug fragments over the trash can. They stared at each cracked ceramic piece. They pulled away, setting them on the counter.
“Other Civilian?” Hero asked, tilting their head.
“It’s special,” Villain said, “I’m going to try to fix it.”
“You’re so sweet,” Hero said, “I’m so lucky to have you.”
Hero started making themselves lunch for the second time that day. Villain didn’t stop them. They just got out the superglue while the guilt swallowed them whole.
