...that's it literally that's all there is to it. i'd say ~80% of the time i'm just using the default pen and nothing else. 100% of the time in a lot of my older work. no fancy schmancy pen pressure, no tapering or smoothing, just me and my pen #mypen.

please allow dark magician to demonstrate my most common color palettes:

unrestricted summer fun is very powerful but i find that i prefer more limited color palettes. i call the second one "season zero" because it is quite literally color-picked from this s0 vhs cover (i upped the saturation just a smidge):

as for the most eye-strainy color palette, "hard mix" is the name of the blend mode that creates that sort of deep fried effect. i tend to use a LOT of blend modes when i make art like that, because it's very visually striking

yugioh has done wonders for getting me out of my color palette comfort zone...i used to honestly shy away intense palettes, though starting last year my art started to get more and more vibrant until yugioh happened and it unleashed a beast that i didn't know i had in me LMAO
