TVL is such a rich text that I don't think this is going to hinder my appreciation for it in the long run, but I'm bummed at how much I'm bumping on the production choices while I'm actively watching the show. The character development and storytelling is all top notch. But the tonal shifts scene to scene are so jarring.

The way they are using the voiceover narration and the documentary footage are so clunky compared to the elegance of IWTV. I'm cool with the continuation of the unreliable narrator but I miss having Daniel's presence in it. His active combatting of Louis was grounding in a way that we don't have in Lestat's audio logs. It's a narrative design and framing choice that just really isn't as effective imo. The pieces just don't fit together as elegantly.
