Being 18-25 is like playing a video game where you’ve skipped the tutorial and you’re just sort of running about with no idea how anything works

Being 25-30 is like later on in the game when you’ve figured out how things work, but have made poor leveling decisions along the way and are now horribly underpowered for what you’re supposed to be doing.

I wish people would stop saying “It’s July. Well done for wasting half a year.” Did you make someone smile in the past six months? Did you stroke a cat or throw a stick for a dog? Did you learn a new fact or teach someone a new joke? Did you laugh, cry, scream or sing in the past six months? Because if so, congratulations for not wasting your time at all.

The worst thing about capitalist culture is that it requires people recover, heal, suffer, cope, and struggle as individuals. Oppressions that naturally invoke community, cooperation, commonality–our ability to recognize ourselves with others, through and in others–are regulated via the urge/demand to struggle alone. We’re encouraged to find strength and solace in isolation. Ownership and property only further cultivate this order.
