no one talks about the grief of dead dreams. we talk about losing loved ones as the big tragedies of our lives, and it is, but what about all those aspirations that couldn't be fulfilled? a career you wanted to pursue, a place you wanted to move to, a project you wanted to embark on - but for whatever reason, whether it's money or opportunity or aptitude or time, you had to let that dream go. and not just that dream, but the version of yourself that you would become if you were able to go after it and attain it. so much of life is about choice and regret, so much is in our control, but in the same breath, so much of our fate is down to inherent qualities within ourselves or the natural direction that our lives are meant to go in. realising you lack the fortune for a dream to come to fruition hurts. it hurts. and I think we should make more space to grieve that

not everything needs to have a deeper meaning except for every single little thing in my day that was obviously sent from the universe to serve as some sort of divine sign which must be analyzed and ruminated upon for months on end
