the thing about misogyny is that femininity is both devalued AND forced on women (and those misgendered as women). if you fail to meet the arbitrary standard of Womanly Charm you're ugly and unwanted and hate yourself and if you succeed you're shallow and brainless and weak. if you don't try to conform you're lazy and if you do you're vain. it is not possible to beat this system. feminism needs both "feminine doesn't mean weak or less-than" AND "women don't have to be feminine to have value", and if you are fighting for one of these the people fighting for the other are not your enemies, nor are they privileged over you.

We need to conquer space travel for the only reason that zero-g would allow for new never before seen pastries, you know how the top of the muffin is the best part? Well that is because it is exposed to air so it changes the chemistry, in normal earth gravity it is impossible to make a muffin that is all top part because it needs to be placed somewhere which would restrict air flow, however in zero g it would be possible to make a bubble out of muffin dough which gets optimal airflow and becomes an all-top part muffin... This is the dream...

thinking about dan telling phil about his childhood and the bullying (that awful horrific slapping incident) and how protective phil must have felt how immediately he wanted to help dan have good experiences and happy experiences. i can't even imagine. like every time i think on it i want to fight the world for that little bub and it makes me feel physically sick what was done to him. i can't imagine what phil felt. knowing he wanted to give dan every chance to have every good opportunity and happy memories just is a lot for my heart to process!!
i loved phil saying that him trying to "sabotage" the york tour or sway dan to go to manchester would've been weird because he! is! correct! i love that even as wildly in love young man saying things like this
and meaning it, he wasn't selfish. he did something that i think really shows that he genuinely and truly loved dan beyond infatuation or puppy love and encouraged him to do what he thought would be a good and healthy and needed experience in his life.
i feel like dan saying phil saved him and was something he needed in his life is largely about this specific way phil loved him. he made him feel safe but he also encouraged him to spread his wings. i feel like that thought in phil's mind of how they'd make it work if dan went to york must've felt a bit similar to dan touring doomed especially in the usa. of course he missed him. of course dan missed phil. but it was something dan needed to do himself (and yes phil was also having his dizzy time health issues so he was limited in traveling then) and he was there as remote crisis manager (and boyfriend texting him "where are you [in the house]" when he was in america on a bus.
Phil giving Dan a chance to spread his wings from the start yes AND also I'd imagine that Dan (as obsessed as he was with Phil) knowing he had other (life) options and he was encouraged to go out there and experience life on his own terms *by* Phil must've been so good for the way Dan works, even back then
He doesn't want to feel tied down, he wants to feel like there's always a chance to be doing something else, so that he can still choose to stay
And Phil was like yes don't worry we'll figure it out, we'll make it work, you can still explore opportunities that would keep us physically not as attached at the hip and that's okay
Just, Dan being loved in the exact way he needed to be loved, even before Phil had had the chance to fully KNOW in the way he does now
YES YES EXACTLY. Dan meeting a guy who loves talking to him for hours and thinks he's cute and funny but also encourages him to explore his options and go where he wants to go and/or where is best for him while also making it clear that he still wants to go forward in the relationship and put in the effort to be together and see each other and be happy. not feeling trapped but also feeling safe and loved and like he has an emotional home/grounding place no matter where he goes.
even if it is a live podcast recording tour i think imma choose to remain hopeful and optimistic.
cause its like. everything we know about why they tour and why they like being live and their goals when being on stage is like. they have a message to get across. they want something with production value they love big sets and colorful lights and quickchanges and confetti.
the whole reason they started touring is because they were sick of being stuck sitting on vidcon panels answering the same boring questions and just thinking "we can do so much better for a live audience than this. we want to spend time with them we want to interact we want to say something about what it means that we're interacting, we want to make something that's worth their time and ticket money if they're gonna come see us."
if i know anything about dnp on tour i trust the theater kid tendencies will have our fucking backs. dan and phil will never do a show that is boring
the thing is. we just love our house re: the concept of a travel show or whatever. very sweet and valid and true

Israel has deliberately and systematically destroyed the means for people in Gaza to sustain their physical health. 94% of hospitals are destroyed, and none can operate at full capacity. Life sustaining medications are blocked from entering and stocks are running out.
My friend Fadel has been hospitalized on and off for months now. The hospitals were already unable to remove shrapnel from him two years ago when Israelis bombed his house while he was inside. At this point in the genocide, he has experienced power outages from nearby bombings while being hospitalized for severe anemia and malnutrition.
Fadel (@fadell-aldany) relies on medication to treat his blood disorder. He has been unable to afford it consistently, and the result is constant dizziness, nausea, pain, and fainting. His family is terrified every time they find him collapsed unconscious that he has died. Now he also suffers from side effects from medications at the hospital that do not work as well. Please help him afford his healthcare and survive this.
I watch myself wither away in front of the mirror while my surgery is delayed and support remains elusive. Every moment of neglect weakens me, and I'm losing consciousness because of what I'm going through. Please help me today, stand by me before I become a mere memory; your kindness might ease my pain and give me another chance at life. I hope you won't forget me.

There seems to be a real chance of Trump dying on camera. Trying to remember a recent photo of him where he’s fully conscious.
Honestly that's what it feels like his management team is trying to avoid every time he disappears for a few days. His doctors think its the end and are scrambling to keep him going but just in case they can't make it work they keep him out of the public eye so if he does die it isn't on camera. Then he recovers enough to walk around and they schedule him for appearances until the next thing triggers their worry and they lock him in with the doctors to try and see if he'll survive the week.
Personally I would love if he toppled onto the pulpit and took it and himself down falling off the stage and splatting his head across cement.
Struck by lightning during the White House UFC fight would be a good laugh.
i think they're only going on tour to share hotel rooms to be honest
