THERE'S SO MUCH TO THIS. imagine mettaton seeing waterfalls and snails on the surface and remembering his days on the snail farm. imagine how he'd decorate his room and it ends up looking almost exactly like his old home. imagine mettaton hearing a spookwave and remembering blooky and remembering everything that comes with them. everything about the part of his life he left behind that is also associated with them.

imagine mettaton seeing a manga cover out in a bookstore and he remembers his early days being friends with alphys. when nothing had soured yet and he was still a ghost and depressed but she was the bright spark of hope he looked forward to.
