It's 1985 and the war that plagued Wizarding Britain is over. The Dark Lord is dead. History books have been updated, written in Ink for future generations. Sirius Black is a war hero. Without him, the war would have been lost. Dark days would still hang over them all. Sirius resents it. The books fail to mention that he'd lost nearly everything he cared about to win. Set fire to it in a blaze of glory, leaving nothing but ashes in his wake. But now, Sirius Black has it all. He's a world famous curse breaker. He's rich and handsome. The Black family legacy has been redefined in his name. He has it all and he's miserable. It's fine; he's better on his own. The history books won't mention Remus Lupin. Secondary characters don't make headlines, and Remus has made a life out of staying in the shadows. Remus spent the war towing a line, never committing, running before anyone could pin him down, and he'd lost everything he loved in the process. It's fine; he's better on his own.
