all this longtail kills rusty au makes me think like... what if it was kind of a bramble!imposter thing ? where longtail is "haunted" by rusty, and out of guilt of killing a kit, a prophecized kit no less, kind of starts doing what rusty tells him to do (rusty isnt malicious either, just advising longtail). the story goes on as normal, except its physically longtail and rusty's just speaking to him. maybe he can momentarily posess longtail in dire situations and take control ?
