I actually don't see her considering the Thrushpelt gambit much of an option in this AU but it's an amusing mental image. Ultimately, even if she's not a traitor she would still be a cheater having kits outside her nest.
Hence why her ultimate solution was to fake their deaths. This way she makes Thistleclaw come across as the bigger asshole for denying the kits. Not a good look to react to the death of your children with "what do I care, they weren't mine anyway". Makes it seem like a childish attempt at a coping mechanism.
This is what makes them so fun to think about in the context of the AU. The worldbuilding makes their situation so damn messy. They become a perfect example of how the rules can act as a catalyst for relationship conflict that is fully unique while still being grounded in the canon.
