i hate the term “ugly laugh” because its really just someones most sincere, uninhibited expression of joy… and that is far from ugly

you’ve reached a checkpoint!
go get yourself a glass of water
have you had enough to eat? go get yourself a little snack
how’s your posture? stretch your back if you have to
happy scrolling!
You are enough

no one is too busy, you’re just not a priority
this is not true. hate bullshit like this, other humans are not here soley for your entertainment/companionship, loved ones wont always be there when you need them most, doesnt mean they love you any less. they have their own lives & feelings & every action of theirs is not a slight towards you or, g-d forbid, a judgement of ur worth. I get everyone has insecurities and mental tribulations but this type of thinking is just self-sabotaging ur self-worth & relationships.

Abled people who spent years telling disabled/mentally ill people how lucky they were because they “get to” stay at home all day: *almost at breaking point after socially isolating for a week*
Disabled people:
my therapist: and what do you feel when you talk about that?
me, with tears rolling down my cheeks: nothing
someone, looking at my very obvious self harm scars: woah where did you get those!

Is anyone else like this? As a kid and even in adulthood in workplaces, I have always needed to doodle in order to maintain focus on and retain important information. My notebook margins are always filled with fun patterns :)
this is definitely an ADHD thing, full stop. working on something physical while listening to something, (i.e. doodling while in class), actually helps people with ADHD focus a LOT better than having to sit still because it lets the body do something while the brain focuses on something else so it doesnt have to focus on the need to move so much.
I needed heavy ADHD medication to get through high school. I was miserable. After I did a few semesters in college and ended up dropping out and working a variety of jobs and I hated what I was doing. I lost my health insurance. I went unmedicated.
Eventually, through trial and error, I found work that suited my style of multitasking and let me work with my hands at the same time. I’m excelling without being heavily medicated for my ADHD for the first time in a long time.
At first I was so dissappointed in myself for dropping out of college. I felt like I wasted money, time and part of my life. But now I’ve ended up finding my niche! Medications didn’t work for me because I needed to find a better situation to function in the way I wanted and needed to. Everyone is different, I am by no means saying medication isn’t a answer. But always consider there is a thousand other options out there and the one that might work best for you could be one you’ve never considered before!
