Blog 7 Getting into the zone
It was a work heavy day, but I tried to squeeze in some math today here and there. I continue to track my day on paper, and so far it is really helping in making me understand , well, the concept of time and how much I waste it.
Study goals : I completed videos on the arithmetic chapter today. I will have to start watching these videos while having my breakfast, lunch and snacks too to complete them fast enough for me to move on to practice. So basically cut down on Netflix for the next few weeks.
Health and fitness goals : I did a full workout today between breaks from math and office. I had to workout in like 3 different sets throughout the day to complete an hour of workout planned for today. But nonetheless, done and dusted .💪 Oh and followed a 10 mins guided meditation too!
Overall, I am really getting back into it. Focus is still haywire but meditation and deep breathing right before a study / work session is helping! And coffee , coffee rocks! 🤘
Goals for tomorrow: Wake up before 9, Study for 5 hours atleast- Complete videos on algebra, do 1RC passage, 5 math problems, 1 page of Sentence equivalence and text completion.
the thing i think people misunderstand about a hyperfixation is that it is genuinely distressing & not really fun at all. you dont just get absorbed in it. you sot there thinking about needing to piss and eat something and sleep and oh god its probably 1am right now but im physically incapable of checking the time because that would require me to disengage. disengaging is not possible. disengaging before the dopamine wanes might actually kill me. i know it wont and would probably actually be healthier, but that doesnt stop the distress chemicals from releasing into my brain and my body at the mere thought. but eventually the dopamine does wane. and i can finally take stock of the fucking aftermath. and its 2:30 am and i havent moved for hours and my bladder is going to explode and my stomach has begun eating itself and i havent drank any water all day. and i am so fucking tired.
and the other thing i think people misunderstand about hyperfixations is that sometimes you hyperfixate on something fully knowing it sucks shit.
ADHD is developing the plot for an entire book while zoned out and daydreaming and then getting so immersed in it that you spend the next week developing characters, their traits, places, development, twists and turns and just hoping the creativity holds up and you'll get to finish it.
(I spend approx 5 hours making character moodboards today)

If you're a writer with ADHD (like me) then you already know this:
Your ideas? They're endless, charged, cinematic—ELECTRIC!!!! ⚡
The execution? ... crickets.
The execution is where things get "complicated".
Today, I'd like to explain why ADHD is an obstacle in of itself, how you can overcome its' evil tricks, and why you shouldn't blame yourself on bad days.
Okay, first off—Executive Dysfunction.
We’re inbetween hyper fixations so we’re kinda bored and sad all the time
Writers: If you could think of ONE thing that would help you focus or stay on project in a writing productivity app that you can't find in current productivity apps out there what would that be?
