just started reading @nightingale-prompts batboy fic and iTS SO CUTE I WANNA DRAW A BABY BAT BOY!!! anyways i drew this.

this is how i imagine the scene where red robin spots batboy for the first time. Just a wip for now, idk if I’ll finish it.

It was originally going to be a still image but I was having trouble with the wings so I animated it to understand how it works better. Idk if I nailed the positioning in the end tho.

But they all think Danny is dead.

What if it took Danny some time to get spat back out of the portal? And I don’t mean he’s stuck in the realms, I mean it just takes some time for Danny to literately be torn apart and put back together.

So Sam and Tucker watch their friend die a painful death and race to get help when he doesn’t come out of the portal.

While they’re searching for help, Danny gets spat out and freaks out when he realizes he’s not human anymore and because there’s no one there to help him calm down, he runs away.

So Danny is sneaking around amity park as a homeless kid because he doesn’t know how to tell his parents he’s a half-ghost and everyone thinks he’s dead.

He doesn’t like to think about how good it felt when they had a funeral for him, but he’s learning how to control his ghost powers a lot faster since he’s not held back by curfew or school.

Jack and Vlad reconcile after they beg for his help to try to bring back their son, he’s reveling in how much Jack and Maddie blame themselves for his death.

Meanwhile Danny spends his time fighting ghosts and haunting the space section of the library.

He’s still a half-ghost. He still fights back all his villains.

The problem is, everyone knows Danny Phantom is Danny Fenton, they just don’t know he’s alive.

Ellie still happens but she’s an accident. They were trying to make Danny a new body and it gained sentience.

2. Why this crosses a line

Ownership: Your video is your work. Your face is your image. When YouTube silently rewrites it, they are asserting that they—not you—own how you appear on their platform.

Trust: Creators like Rick Beato and Rhett Shull rely on authenticity. If the platform itself tampers with that, it erodes the bond between creator and audience.

Consent: On your phone, you can toggle filters. On YouTube, you aren’t asked. That’s the difference between a tool you control and a platform that controls you.

Reality creep: These changes seem tiny, but they normalize the idea that media is always pre-processed. Once you accept that, the very expectation of “realness” starts to vanish.

3. Why YouTube thinks they can do this

Most people won’t notice.

Those who do notice won’t leave; there’s no real competition at YouTube’s scale.

With bigger global crises, this feels too trivial to fight. They know apathy and exhaustion keep most people quiet.

4. The deeper problem This isn’t about whether a shirt wrinkle looks sharper. It’s about power. YouTube doesn’t see itself as a neutral distributor of your work. It sees itself as the author of the experience, with full rights to “optimize” your content however it likes. Creators are just raw material. That’s why they didn’t ask: asking implies you could say no.

5. What can be done

Raise awareness. The only reason this surfaced was because creators with big audiences noticed. Keep amplifying it.

Demand control. A mandatory opt-out is the minimum. YouTube must not alter identity without consent.

Diversify. Explore Nebula, PeerTube, even Patreon-hosted video. Every bit of independence reduces monopoly leverage.

Frame the stakes. This isn’t “just a filter.” It’s a question of who owns your image, your work, your voice. If we concede that to the platform, we’ll lose the last trace of authenticity online.

it’s definitely one of my favorites. Like, unquestionably. I happy stimmed so hard I nearly fell off the bed the first time I heard it, and I’ve been chasing family members around with headphones trying to get them to listen. I am full on GNASHING MY TEETH feral. The vocals scratch the best itch in my brain and it makes me so so so so happy!!!!! They’re so PRETTY. Like, genuinely just. Stunning. awaawaaa.

The “lay me down among the reliquaries” has to be one of my favorite lines in terms of like. It gets stuck in my head and I want to repeat it forever and I adore it. The way you can sorta hear a smile when they sing “down”?? It’s awesome!!! Their whole song is super bittersweet nostalgia feeling!!!! I am going to chew it in my teeth!!!! I get a similar feeling from the whole “day by day” to “act their age” bit

the “whOoOOo” is just SO NICE TO LISTEN TO!!!!! whOoOooO owl but like. singing.

the pitch(???) change at “And chestnuts” is so nice!

“Jingle bells” is another little part of a line that just makes me really happy

I LOVE THIS. I ADORE it. It’s one of my favorite bits of the song total. It’s awesome amazing aruhrhrh. It feels very relatable in a lot of ways. Very aplicable to many things (including masking neurodivergence!)

SO. This part of “One last time Before the mold Crept into figs and quinces I meant to rinse myself In a warm golden light

And let it sink deep Into my skin and Fold a blanket round my heart Knowing it’s hard To keep hope alive When the sun goes dark”

feels so applicable to our current state of the world, but also is one of those. I feel personally called out. Moments.

It’s very much.. like.. losing a loved one or a cherished thing, in the feeling of “I regret not doing one more/one last XYZ with them, or I regret not savoring it because then the sun went dark (they died/left/etc)”

the whole song is very very bittersweet and nostalgic and just. Aufh. It makes me feel things. I can’t relate to not wanting the summer to end (FREE ME FROM THIS SWELTERING STATE AUDHDHHD) (I’m a heat intolerant Texan) but it’s so widely applicable generally. I don’t know if it’s me projecting but it feels very much like losing someone that you thought you had more time with, and having regrets about it.

All in all I fucking LOVE this song. It’s one of my favorites and I will have this on repeat for the next like. until grievances comes out. it makes me so happy I. I’m gonna be SO ANNOYING about this, everyone who gets near me is gonna be forced to hear this- to quote @microraptorhours, it’s just gonna start playing like boss music if you go within a 4 foot radius of me.
