The Bone Zone

I have a huge backlog of a bunch of assorted reviews/music-related-writings/musings, all in various states of completion. This, naturally, stems from my neurotic need to write down every analytical thought or opinion that comes to mind whenever I sit down to listen to music. I began the process of trying to polish up a lot of my reviews (ramblings) and publish them on my rateyourmusic account earlier this year, which was slightly better than my older system of holding everything in an intertwined web of google docs (no kidding), but really -

as much as I love rateyourmusic for all of its quirks and ability to make endless categorical lists of albums/music to the extent that my adhd-riddled mind desires, the review posting system is just not very user-friendly, especially in regards to trying to find or sort through published reviews by a single user.

So, in an effort to settle on a new centralized home for all of my paranoid ramblings, I’ve made the decision to try to start moving a lot of my old stuff over to here, even if only for the time being. I debated on creating a blogspot or something similar, or even just hosting a shitty github website, but overall just I find this site a lot better for actual user engagement and conversation than the former two, which is, fundamentally, one of the main reasons that I’d want to put my ramblings somewhere that other people can see it in the first place, in the hopes that other people will engage with it and get something out of it.

tag system will get sorted out soon enough, but I reckon it’ll be as simple as just tagging any reviews with #album-reviews and then the tag of the associated band or artist. Idk, I’ll update this post soon when I actually get this whole operation up and running. Otherwise, I’ll still be rebloging other stuff and posting non-review stuff, and we’ll just see how this goes for a little while. Play it by ear, y’hear?
