I haven't watched the tadc finale yet. I've heard that Jax being trans is "debatable" or "open to interpretation" but based on the way the fandom is switching up on Jax I'm guessing it's less ambiguous than people are letting on.

My brother randomly told me something that really made me think.
About what "Protect the youth" has become. Idk what it was like in other countries and I know that it very likely could have been stricter than it was in my country back then. But generally:
He was like "When I was 16, there were two kinds of adult content: Horror movies and explicitly depicted sexual content. The first made me have nightmares, the latter (as in what you could get in video rental stores) generally wasn't of much interest to me because it wasn't something I, as a 16 year old, could relate to. And other sexual content that was interesting (and/or helpful) WAS freely accessible. So whenever I saw an "18+" label somewhere, I just completely ignored that content because I knew it wouldn't be interesting at all to me.
But NOW, what's declared 18+ is even an excessive amount of swear words in streams! NOW, when I see an "18+" label, I don't know if it's horror movies that'll give some 16 year olds nightmares, if it's completely unrelatable porn, OR if it's educational sex ed, a 20 year old talking about their really healthy relationship with their partner (that includes intimacy), education about consent in BDSM (which affects 16 year olds as well, there's no age limit to curiosity), a live stream of wholesome musicians who happen to drink a couple of beers during kind of therapeutic talks, or simply people who aren't puritans and say "fuck" a lot! An 18+ label isn't worth anything anymore!"
And yeah... That's just it.
People who talk about body changes during their (first!) puberty are even labelled adult content. Even though puberty very much happens BEFORE adulthood. It's helpful content for minors. And it's labelled "adult" to "protect the youth".
My Dunmeshi theory about Kaka and Kiki’s original name
Apparently nobody on Tumblr share this opinion about this dunmeshi lore with me, at least as far as I’ve searched, so I’m making this post. My apologies for the post being long and me overexplaining, I’m not sure if my poorly written sentences can convey what I mean so I had to be extra sure.

So I want to talk about this. About their names.
Learning that Kaka and Kiki were originally named Kakakaka and Kikikiki made me feel very, very sorry for them. At least when I (a Japanese person) showed the Japanese version of the pic to my friends, they understood why I felt that way without being explained. Also I googled and found people with the same opinion, so I guess my opinion is somewhat shared among the readers in my country.
So let me explain.
If you’ve played a role playing game (RPG) or something similar, you might know how you sometimes create an unwanted, “disposable” character.
You create a new character, you rob them of the default clothing and weapon they’ve got in order to sell and make money.
When you’re done, you “delete”them by put them back to the “storage” and ignoring them forever. Like, if you’ve played BotW, you store your unneeded horses in whatever it is called in English, right? That’s what I mean by “storage”.
In Japanese RPG games, a tavern typically plays the role of the “storage”. You let the character wait for you at a tavern and leave forever. I’m writing this mainly thinking about Dragon Quest (a Japanese RPG), so I don’t know if this is a universal thing. I’ll edit this part if something is unclear.
By the way, when playing older Japanese games, you often don’t get to name your characters as freely as you want. Your names should be in hiragana and 4 letters maximum.
So for example, if your name was らいおす (Raiosu/Laios) or まるしる (Marushiru/Marcille) you get to name your characters after you as there are 4 hiraganas, but if you’re ちるちゃっく (Chiruchakku/Chilchuck) you have to shorten your name to ちる (Chiru/Chil) or something so that your name consists of 4 or less hiraganas.
Back to the unwanted characters. You have to name them. But you obviously don’t want to think hard about the name of a disposable character, right?
At least Japanese players didn’t. They smashed the hiragana keyboard, and were often too lazy to move their fingers while doing so.
So typically, the character would end up with a name consisting of 4 identical hiraganas. For example, the most typical one is ああああ (Aaaa) as あ is one of the easiest keys to select with a console. か (ka) and き (ki) were fairly easy to select too.
The twins’ original names, かかかか(Kakakaka) and きききき (Kikikiki), strongly reminded me of this.
The twins were given no-brainer 4-same-hiragana names and abandoned in a tavern, being told to wait for their company which will never return for them, like many disposable characters did. At least in my headcanon, their relatives clearly didn’t want them.

my dad (Maori) works on a ship with all Maori/Tongan/Samoan fisherman- and one Aussie guy called Jake.
And that wasn't done on purpose just sort of how it ended up, but Jake recently got an injury so they put him on a Different boat just for a little bit (a sit in the wheelhouse and scout type of boat, instead of the main fishing one) and he only got back to my dad's ship today and he was apparently like Shaking. He was Traumatised.
Dad said Jake kept pulling him aside and going "They were all yelling on there, but in a MEAN way" "They didn't clean... Like at ALL"
Jake experienced what a boat full of old school Aussie fisherman is like. That is the norm Jake. You just happened to be on the all Island boy boat on your first go out. "It was time for dinner and they had FROZEN nuggets" Jake that's what they have on ships that are out at sea for months at a time.
On my dad's boat they are eating fresh fish and coconut milk Ceviche. They're grilling steaks on an open bbq on the deck that probably is not regulation. All the guys have their own special knives to prepare sashimi every couple days. Everyone is happily doing their own work so they can clock out early and set up a movie on the deck. Jake did you genuinely believe that's what every boat was doing.
