ngl the most important thing i was taught growing up was that its not enough to just be anti racist but to also be pro black
hating racists is good ! but if youre only hating the oppressor and not uplifting the oppressed all you are doing is using a performative method to direct your anger at. being angry is good, but its not enough. you have to love too. uplift the ones that should be uplifted. celebrate black art and culture and people. celebrate blackness for the beauty it is

It fucking better.
Like to charge, reblog to cast?
why can rockstar games institutionalise you for life like nikita kruschev for being autistic
He didn't steal 10 million dollars. They made that number up as a loss, they never fucking had it. Rockstar has spent more than a billion fucking dollars on GTA VI and will likely make billions more when it gets released.
Uber is a fucking shell game of a company designed to leech investor capital and output bootleg cabs.
Nvidia posted a profit in 2023 of $4.37 billion. This is like someone stealing less than a penny from me.
And they lock this kid in a prison hospital for LIFE?
Capitalism is disgusting.
Nobody should buy GTA til they free Arion Kurtaj
What with GTA VI going up for pre-order i'd just like to remind everyone that rockstar conspired with the UK government to lock an 18-year-old away for life for hacking them.
this post is so funny to me because this is absolutely a thing and was very popular at one point. people already did it 40 years ago and its called new romantic

Maryland will become the first US state to ban surveillance pricing in retail stores, after passing Protection from Predatory Pricing Act.
Jesus fucking christ that this exists in the first place
I WAS FUCKING WONDERING WHAT THOSE DIGITAL PRICE TAGS WERE ABOUT SUDDENLY i had hoped they were so the workers didn't have to finagle those little papers into the slider part anymore 😭
Hi, yes, that is the OFFICIAL excuse made to me by the guy replacing the paper tags with digital ones at my local Walmart, but the end goal is to remove the numbers off the shelf entirely, replacing them with QR codes that you have to scan with the app…. Which requires your login information….. and also stores your card information so even if you didn’t use your Walmart account at the physical checkout, if you used a card they recognize, they assign that purchase to your Walmart account purchase history.
I explained very clearly to the manager my issue with the meat section not having the price tags listed, and they claimed it was only going to be for the meat, since meat is by weight, and the price of each item is printed on the packs of each item.
Sure. That’s how they get their foot in the door. Fast forward not even two weeks, and here we are:
Bar codes. No prices, no item descriptions. No price stickers on the individual items. Heck, not even the name of the item that is SUPPOSED to be there.
No. The only way to see the price is to scan it on your phone app, which is also recording what you looked at recently, as a way of gauging what you might be looking for in the future.
So here’s what we’re gonna do gang:
Every time you go into a store that has implemented these price-less tags:
Take 1-3 items up to the cash register. Ask the cashier for the price, or hit the price check item on the self checkout, which will likely call over the attendant.
Express that you didn’t actually want it, you just couldn’t see on the shelf how much it was.
POLITELY, AND WITH A THANK YOU FOR THE PRICE CONFIRMATION, Give the items to the cashier or attendant to put back.
When they inevitably try to push the app, politely decline. If pressed for why not, say you don’t want to have to carry your phone in-hand the whole time you are shopping in order to see how much things cost. (Not having cell service or data to use the app is NOT a valid excuse, as stores already often have complimentary WiFi AND more stores will provide WiFi rather than give up on this push for surveillance pricing)
If it’s a shelf-stable item, the cashier will have to set it aside, taking up room in their limited operating space, and eventually pass it off to someone to put in a holding area to put back later. If it’s a fridge/freezer item, it might have to get tossed due to food product sale regulations.
In either case, you are making it a pain in the ass for them to have these digital bar codes. Tie up the checkouts. Give the employees more busywork that the company has to pay them to do. Hurt their bottom line having to toss the pint of ice cream you carried around in your cart for 20 minutes before giving it back to the cashier.
Yes, call your reps. Yes, push for more legislation like this in more places. But also take an extra minute out of your shopping trip to MAKE IT HURT for companies to pull this shit.
I've seen some people in the notes express (very fair) concern that this is only going to inconvenience already under-paid laborers, and not have any impact on corporate. While I can't speak for every company or every store, I do work in a grocery store and I can tell you this is precisely the kind of thing that would have an impact, especially if people are doing it en masse. Stores absolutely track their shrink numbers, and they do draw distinctions between what gets stolen, damaged, or wasted for other reasons. If people are making it clear that the reason they're bringing things to the cashier is that the prices are not adequately represented on the displays, and rather than improving business it's wasting product, slowing down transactions, and causing confusion and mistrust in customers, that is a language that shareholders speak.
I worked in retail for years. If this had happened while I was working retail, I would have been delighted and felt great solidarity with anyone who was wasting my employer's time and money and giving me busy work as an act of protest. In point of fact every moment the employee spends carting items back to the shelves is a moment not spent standing at a register.
actually i’ve done a lot of work on myself since we last spoke and i wanted to tell you to go fuck yourself and that i hope you die
Attention All Tumblrinas Who Engage In The DC Fandom But Don't Read Comics Or Anything For Some Reason
If you are reading this and the above message is applicable, this is your sign to read some gosh darn comics. There's some pretty good stuff in there if you successfully swerve past all the misogyny and grooming and character assassination.
To be more helpful, I'm gonna provide you with a list. It's going to be mostly Batman because the doctors are unsure about my neurotype and I know what I like, and reasons will be provided
–Batman: Prey
Have you ever wanted to read a story about Batman having a really bad time and also having to deal with a psychologist who really shouldn't have a license who also has weird attitudes towards women? No? Too bad. Bruce Wayne whumpers, come get your slop, because he canonically has a mental breakdown in this story for complicated plot reasons
-The Absolute DC Line of comics
I know most people here are at least performatively liberal, so go read DC's Absolute line. Batman dropkicks a five year old, Superman is an edgy twink guy who eventually gets around to being a symbol of hope and stuff, and this version of Green Lantern goes through toxic yuri
-Mother Panic
Is this only on the list because Violet Paige is my baby? Yes. But, she's an alty bisexual with a one-sided rivalry with Batman, and she has some of the most fantastic vibes ever
-Batman: Arkham Asylum: A Serious House On A Serious Earth
Me personally, I like to interpret the story as a really weird nightmare Bruce is having after a little too much chemical exposure. Subjectivity aside, it's about Batman going into Arkham after the villains have taken over, and it's crazy and trippy in a fun way
-Tower Of Babel
It's probably kind of weird to say this, but the ending did make me cry. While not exactly a sad story per say, it details Bruce making one of the biggest mistakes ever and hurting his friends a lot due to his own issues. Also, this was the 90s/early 2000s, so Aquaman/Arthur in this story looks awesome as Hell
-George Perez Wonder Woman
It's got its issues, but it provides a pretty solid grasp of who Diana is as a person. Also, it has a very nice kind of patina, very aesthetic. It was the 80s, so there's obvi some commentary on the Cold War, with the overarching message boiling down to 'war is stupid and everything would be better if we stopped trying to kill each other'. Note, I've only read the first volume, so...
-Batman/Superman by Jeph Loeb
This is, hands down, the best thing Jeph has contributed to the world, except for that other comic I guess. Bruce and Clark are so gay in this series sometimes, you people have got to read the annual with the cruise. Superbat shippers eat good with this one
-Mark Waid's World's Finest
This series is currently ongoing, and best described as Batman and Superman coparenting their adopted teen son Robin. It takes place during the days of Dickbin, and has this perfectly balanced tone between whimsical comic book shenanigans and genuine peril. It also makes a point to include more lesser known characters like Metamorpho and The Doom Patrol
-Batman: The Long Halloween
Twobats annnnggggst. Oh yeah, and it's ultimately a tragedy about Gordon, Bruce, and Harvey trying their damndest to helpthe city but only managing to have one type of villain swapped out for another

Come to think of it, it really is insane that my entire country is burning alive and literally no one in the rest of the world cares. Thousands of Indians are dying every day from the heat, it's 45+ degrees in multiple areas, the government couldn't give two fucks, we're getting severe warnings and red alerts, and not a soul outside of South Asia is speaking about it because why would you ever care about brown people
