'Mel in the Middle' (A SentrySong, Bob x Mel/ Sentry x Mel fic) Chapter 12
Summary: After the disastrous movie date with Mel, Bob and Sentry are struggling with the new changes in their dynamic. Switching between the two has never been more complicated, and now the both of them find themselves in situations they are so not prepared for. And not only are they fighting for control of Bob's body but for the affections of one Mel Gold. Mel thought it was bad enough that she had developed feelings for her best friend, but throwing his cocky, blond alter ego into the mix sure does complicate things. And she hates complicated. Embarking on this wild ride of ill-timed swaps, can Mel figure out her feelings and decide once and for all who she wants to be with?
Chapter 12 Sneak Peek:
They blended in with crowd heading into the subway, but entering the train car got Mel nervous. It was only a ten minute ride to the Strand, but being in close perimeter with civilians? There was an opportunity to get recognized.
As if sensing her worries, Bob urged Mel to turn around so she could face him, both of them sharing a strap to keep them upright. The train jolted, and she fell towards him.
His free arm reached around her back, steadying her, her hand finding purchase in his chest.
"Sorry," she murmured.
"S'ok. I don't mind" There was a smile in his words, she didn't have to look.
Lifting her head, she caught whiff of sandalwood and soap. It was easy to breathe it in with how close they were, and once again, Mel was questioning her resolve. How it crumbled with close proximity and the cool of a blue stare trained on her.
Mel was this close to suggesting they kiss to ward off suspicion.
"You don't want to get spotted" he correctly surmised.
"Maybe I should have grabbed a hat too" she mumbled.
He leaned in to whisper in her ear.
"I may have a back up plan"
