I’m never NOT thinking about how the first 40ish minutes of Wall•E are the most evocative, beautiful thing that the Walt Disney company has ever produced bar none, and then the SECOND they reach the space station it becomes the most boring, blunt and extremely ableist “save the earth” animated kids movie in existance for the movie’s remaining sixty minutes. Why did they do that to him.

I feel like you can make the same messages without putting the idea of being fat/needing mobility aids as a moral failing. I understand where the idea comes from, but just because the idea has good intentions doesn't mean the effect isn't shitty.

So something no one told me about transitioning is the desire to live. It sounds dramatic, but it really is true. I want to live and plan for the future. I turn 30 this month and I didn't think I would care about what I wanted to accomplish. Before I just sorta... Existed. My dysphoria manifested as apathy in the extreme. I felt like a Sim, just ordering my body to do the things I needed to survive. But now? Now my God I want to eat good food, laugh with friends, do my hair, wear cute clothes, find long lasting love, comfort and be comforted. I care so damn much now and it's fucking beautiful. Keep going folks, it gets so much better and the world is brighter with you in it.
