As a woman, why is it a good idea to shave your head?
You are taking back control, you’re the one acting, not a passive patron in a hair salon;
You decide how your hair looks like, because you’re doing it yourself;
You’re being financially responsible: no expense beyond the initial investment in a pair of clippers;
You get an intimate experience with your body;
You learn about the shape of your head, the dips and rises of your bones, the texture of your hair when it’s short;
You look cool;
And really, really sexy but mostly to other women;
You feel lighter;
No maintenance: you can jump out of bed and you’re ready to face the day;
You’re never too old or too ugly for a buzzcut, it suits all face shapes;
You gain independence: one more facet of your life when you only need to rely on yourself;
No need for an hair drier;
You get to wear all your favorite beanies;
You can feel the wind along your scalp, it’s another way to experience the world;
Your hair never get in the way;
Corollary, you no longer need hair ties;
You can rub your own head and scratch your scalp, which is very comforting (added bliss if a girlfriend rubs your shaved head);
You look like you could murder any man in your path and they know it;
You look like the badass your are and you feel like the badass you are;
Nothing is easier than a buzzcut;
Washing your hair takes 30 seconds top;
Men can no longer grab your hair to restrain or hurt you;
You’re an inspiration to all the women who see you;
You get to concretely reject the absurd sexist demands that society imposes on women in terms of appearance;
Did I mention you look amazing? Because you do :)
You have a story to tell, something to break the ice with other women;
It’s an experience of truth, you no longer hide your head beneath hair and you are revealed in all your glory;
