You know when it comes to Graham Platner I’m glad that a lot of women on the left are finally waking up to how blatantly misogynistic a lot of leftist men truly are. They’re seeing the way these men are talking about Platner’s accuser: calling her a liar, calling her a “Zionist plant”, saying that she was asking for it, and a lot of women are rightfully horrified and fed up.

But I also think a lot of these women need to ask themselves a simple question: why were you ok with them doing this to Israeli women? When Hasan Piker said that he “didn’t care” if women were raped on Oct 7th, when they called Israeli women who came forward about their assaults liars, when they mocked the suffering of the hostages and said that Hamas “treated them well”, when they said they deserved it, when they joked that they were “too ugly to be raped”, where was your outrage over that behavior then? Why were you silent when it was Israeli women, and why did you think it would stop there?

What starts with Jews never ends with Jews.

I'm definitely happy for the 35-year-old woman who's proud of being a virgin and waiting for the things she truly wants, but I don't want this discussion to be turned into shaming girls and women who do enjoy casual sex or who have had sex with someone who wasn't ideal, because the implication is that these girls and women are damaged goods or forever dirtied. I truly don't ever want women to feel this type of shame because it paralyzes your mind. I'm happy for women doing what they want, but making poor choices or not always doing things authentically doesn't make you unrespectable, less than, or worthy of shame. Human beings don't become forever less, just for doing a mistake or making choices from insecurity.

I believe women are in a frequent state of fawning. When you know the world runs on violence and dominance and you live amongst a group of people who can easily dominate you and hurt you, you will fawn as a coping mechanism. You will want to make that group love you, respect you and protect you. Therefore, you will defend them and try to please them just so they like you. Getting their love means you might be protected and they won't kill you.

occasionally, we all need to do some internal reality checks. step back from ideals and activism for a few minutes to actually see and understand the women in the world – the housewives who will never leave their husbands, the lesbians who don’t have a single activist bone in their bodies, the women who can’t understand the point of separatism, the women who swear that they’re happy doing what they do, the old women who spent their entire lives with a man and are therefore too boring for you, the women who never want to work a job, the women who will never have time for activism because they do nothing but work a job, the women who are “stuck in their ways,” the women who have distanced and isolated themselves from any of the other women in their lives…

the world isn’t made up of ideologically pure women or noble, flawless victims of the patriarchy who are damaged but do no damage themselves. the world isn’t split into good, interesting, politically active women & bad women who you can ignore (unless you feel like making fun of them). the world is primarily composed of women who do not already agree with you. and they’re still worthwhile women who deserve to be liberated as much as the ones who do agree with you.

Every time women adapt in order to overcome the strength disparity between us and men as a way to defend ourselves in a worst case scenario or avoid danger altogether... That adaptation comes to be seen as a sign of cowardice by men.

Poison being a "woman's weapon" in a disparaging sense. Self defense laws expecting people to act in ways that are only really accessible to men and women who choose to strike at a later time being demonized. Gossiping to turn the community against him and seek refuge that way (plus making sure no other woman is blindsided by his behavior) being seen as trashy.

More modernly, leaving someone over text being considered a terrible and inconsiderate thing. I remember this being a plot point in so many cartoons and tv series for tweens growing up. It's so insidious to brainwash girls into believing they owe someone, usually a guy, a "dignified breakup" when that has so often gotten women killed. I dunno, men trying to socially punish women for not playing their honor games when they've never acted honorably towards us has been pissing me off as of late.

I would love to know about people who talk about the insane levels of misogyny cope from Tifs. Tims are always far worse but the amount of shit I see from Tifs needs to be studied too. They are huge enablers and some of them harrass women online like it's a job.

Rape isn’t like murder or beating. It's a misogynistic hate crime. That's why it's oftentimes seen as worse by women.
