do not rely on stylization as an excuse for anatomy

draw the goddamn background you coward

just draw the hand- a bad hand is better than a hidden hand

the rule of thirds WORKS

take a considerable break between sketch and lines/paint

know that art takes longer as you get better at it

draw the seams on clothes

stop aiming for accuracy and focus on fluidity and motion, accuracy will come with practice of those two concepts

just…do the chiaroscuro. just DO IT. no excuses it always works

stop making excuses, make yourself an art schedule/set weekly(or daily) art goals and just DO IT.

If you have an art account in instagram, be careful with accounts that have a random name with a 1340 at the end, one of them commented in one of my photos

i was excited to be noticed and that someone wanted to share my art with credit so i clicked their link and submitted one pic, and also gave them my e-mail address, they told me that my art may not be published soon since they have to much requests, which i think was reasonable, and an hour later i received this

I got even more excited when i saw this e-mail, nothing bad passed trough my mind about it at that time, until i clicked the link and read how i’m supposed to participate

It confused me, if the magazine is advertisement based why do i have to forcefully pay suc, NON-REFUNDABLE price for submitting something that MAY BE published, specifically if their target audience are almost unknown artist and the magazine isn’t even a recognizable one. So i googled it and i found out that i wasn’t the only one:

the same story, started with a comment in, IG then they mail you and tell you about the contest and try to sreal your money, some of them said they were sending them DMs till the point it was kind of annoyin.

Another thing i just searched was that there are a lot of instagram accounts that ended up with the number 1340 and only like 2 of them weren’t related to the magazine

   I’m updating my commission sheets for personal reasons. It’s a last try since I can’t get a stable job until the recent date &. our bills are all in red. We will end up anytime soon homeless so I beg for your help. If you can’t commission, reblogs would be greatly appreciated.

 BUST: A demonstration of character’s head & shoulders. The main focus will be on the character’s face, hair ears, collarbone, and every little detail you want me to put on those. It’s ideal for catching a character’s personality, or if you want to emphasize their expression. As it’s said, the face is the identity!! ^^

 HALF BODY: A general view of the character since their head until their waist. The main focus will be put on their posture, accessories, clothes, and anything that character-izes them x) Fun fact, many known figures were immortalized in half-body paintings.

 FULL BODY: A panoramic view of the character’s physical appearance, showing in detail every part of their body. Ideal for OCs, few-viewed characters or why not main characters in general! You can even think in seeing your character in action! (i.e. bearing a sword or holding a bow… or why not? Running!)
