when people say the usa is like a third-world country or whatever, i think, aw man. if the median american got sick they'd have to sell the goat. i hope cement flooring reaches the median american to reduce helminthiasis. i hope the median american gets access to chlorinated water, fortified foods, and skilled birth attendence. some day we can even hope the median american will have a birth certificate and a savings account.

realistically "data centers" are a pretty smart thing to spend your excess AI investment money on if you assume that the AI bubble will collapse, because you can then use that real property and hardware that you own for other things not AI-related once the bubble bursts. and even if you need to pay creditors, the data centers will actually hold value since it's all equipment, not ephemeral digital assets.

the counterargument to this would be that H100s or GB200s are fairly specialised for AI computations so in a burst bubble that’s hardware without demand. maybe you can put them toward encoding video since that’s definitely not decreasing in demand. but I definitely think there’s a possibility you end up with capacity for far more matrices than anyone wants to multiply.

I’m pretty sure I’m a “cilantro tastes like soap” person except i dont think it tastes like soap. Just really overpowering and slightly bitter. If offered i would stay away from it as garnish but i wouldn’t turn down a meal just cause it has it in it. I do believe i am objectively correct in this.
