I love the juxtaposition of a corporate lawyer Thomas Jopson who had his law studies backed and supported by Crozier and the corp's money after first employed and now feels some doglike loyalty to Crozier and whatever investment the old man has on whatever portfolio adventures he holds with the company and Jopson is some kind of defense dog for the corporation/bank whatever we're talking a place of Real Money he once could only dream of and sniff at from afar, but he's feeling jaded and hopeless lately despite earning the good position he worked his entire life to achieve, of course he is.

Through a tough job meeting he meets starryeyed Edward Little, also working with law, raised in a comfortable lifestyle, who wants to do some good in the world and has recently quit his soul crushing blood sucking position and is now antagonistic to Thomas's corporation and their goals. And Thomas finds him insanely hot. And he's inserting some very welcome new energy into Thomas's life. And they made out after work about it, a decision greatly judged by everyone around them. And through Thomas lenses, Edward is suave but to everybody else who's seeing things in the more realistic side, Edward just comes across as an awkwardly sincere guy inside his field of work, almost vulnerably so, who now sounds very, very tired and almost too tired and done with to sound as properly pissed as he should with Thomas's corporation garbage, which wins him points for politeness and the real attack dog from his side is Tozer, Edward's work partner, but Edward looks like the true professional in comparison and Thomas is swooning and feeling like he's going insane, finding himself making plans for a good resignation deal since this guy's dicking has proved to be as good as he dreamt of, making way for this introspective journey in which he realizes he has no principles of his own, it's all have been spinning around Crozier his entire adult life, no wonder he's been dissatisfied and feeling alienated like some kind of robot and ready to jump out of his life and into another one with some semblance of real human love and not whatever crumbles he was accepting into his life so far, from people who never considered him an equal.

What's the first "big news story" you remember from when you were a kid?

It's something I love to ask mixed-aged groups sometimes because I think it's really interesting to see the responses. I've gotten answers from the Olympics of [whatever year] to Watergate to more recent stuff from my niblings.

My first news thing I remember is the OJ Simpson trial. I vaguely remember watching the news with my grandparents before that, but that's the first story I remember, in part because my second grade teacher had us go play so she could watch the verdict 😂
